Levante vs Espanyol Betting Tips and Predictions – La Liga Tips

Levante vs Espanyol predictions, betting tips and preview for Friday night’s live La Liga fixture and the best odds for our three bets.

After the excitement dished up by Spanish sides in midweek, we’re back to the bread and butter of La Liga as Levante host Espanyol on Friday night and our Levante vs Espanyol betting preview includes three tips.

Levante will be looking to get back to winning ways after a poor run and we’ve picked out the best bets for this match which kicks off at 19:30.

Levante v Espanyol Preview

Not one perhaps to get the pulses racing on Friday night in La Liga, but for both of these clubs, getting back to winning ways is important. Espanyol had been performing well with just one defeat in seven before Atletico Madrid came to town and did what they do best – spoil the party. It leaves them in 15th place in the table, but it’s been their away form that has let them down this season with just three of their ten victories away on the road.

In contrast, Levante sit 20th (bottom) and it’s their home form that is keeping them afloat (just about). Five of their six wins have been here and without that form, they would have already confirmed their place in the Segunda Division for next season. Two of those victories have come in the last four matches with victories over Valencia and Getafe. They kept clean sheets in both of those. There is a five-point gap between themselves and 17th place Granada and if they can get three points here, cutting that gap will put pressure on the teams above them.

They will be boosted by the return of some key players for this one (see team news) and will fancy their chances of getting something from this game. Espanyol generally don’t like visiting Estadio Ciudad de Valencia as they have lost four of the last five visits here with the other match ending 2-2.

Although the visitors are unbeaten in their last three away games, they’ve been very poor on their travels, losing 11 of their 16 away games this season. They’ve conceded six goals in their last four away matches and keeping them out is clearly a problem. In fact 35 of their 60 goals conceded this season have come on the road.

Levante usually go behind though and often switch off in the first half. They’ve only been leading at half time twice all season and have conceded the opening goal in 72% of their matches. Unfortunately, they don’t have the firepower to get themselves back into games with top scorer Deyverson only managing nine goals this campaign and Morales having hit six. Five of those have been at home. Perhaps Deyverson’s mind has been on other things as he is one of three Levante players accused of partying until late by the Spanish media this week. You’d expect more from Felipe Caicedo than the seven goals he’s managed all season as Espanyol’s top scorer. The striker has only found the target twice away from home.

Levante vs Espanyol Teams News

As mentioned above, Levante can welcome back a couple of players. Zouhair Feddal is back after suspension and is joined by Verza. With the need for points desperate, both will be ushered straight back into the team. Simao Mate is another one of the accused this week, but despite his partying, he should continue in the eleven. Ivan Lopez and Tono are longer term absentees.

Espanyol have returning players as well, they welcome back Hernan Perez. The winger was suspended for their defeat against Atletico, but they will require his creativity here. It’s a straight shoot-out between Oscar Duarte and Enzo Roco for the Centre back position.

Levante vs Espanyol Predictions

With Levante’s only home defeats coming against Real Madrid and Barcelona in the last seven matches here, I fancy them to at least take something from tonight’s match for my La Liga football tips. Espanyol aren’t very good on the road, but they have collected five points from their last three away matches against opponents down the wrong end of the table. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s another point a-piece. My first Levante v Espanyol betting tip is for the match to end a draw. It can be backed at 23/10 with Bet365.

With so few natural and regular goalscorers on show, I wouldn’t be surprised if this one is settled by one or two goals. Espanyol’s last two away matches have both ended 1-1 whilst at home Levante have drawn 0-0 and won 1-0. My second Levante vs Espanyol prediction is for the match to end with Under 2.5 goals. It can be backed at 8/11 with Sky Bet.

Guiseppe Rossi is top of the goalscoring market and I think he is backable. He scored the winner in their win here against Valencia recently. He can get on the scoresheet again. My third Levante v Espanyol betting tip is for Guiseppe Rossi to score anytime. He is 39/19 with 888Sport and if you open a new 888Sport betting account you'll get treble the odds for your first bet.
