Man City v West Ham Betting Tips and Predictions – Premier League 19/04/15

Manchester City v West Ham Premier League betting predictions and tips for Super Sunday this weekend.

First up on Sky Sports this Super Sunday this weekend is Manchester City's clash with West Ham at The Etihad. Tune in at the usual time of 13:30 and here are our free football betting tips.

Man City v West Ham Betting Preview:

Where do you start with Manchester City?! At the turn of the year, last season's champions were right in the mix of a title race with Chelsea and still going strong in the FA Cup and Champions League. Since then their season has fallen to pieces and even the scant consolation of a top four finish is hanging by the thinnest of threads.

If there was ever a game for Manuel Pellegrini to turn around his side's fortunes, it was the Manchester derby last weekend. City actually started the match brilliantly, and but for another piece of world class goalkeeping from David De Gea, could have been 2-0 up in the first fifteen minutes. However, after Ashley Young's deserved equaliser, City capitulated. The resilience that was such a huge factor in their title-winning seasons was absolutely non-existent coming into the Man City v West Ham match this weekend.

One crumb of comfort for the hosts, though, is the fact they are playing West Ham United. At this stage of the season, you could barely hand-pick an easier fixture. Up until the Christmas period, The Hammers were absolutely flying and the usual spiel of whether they can avoid relegation was being replaced with notions of a push for Europe.

However, form has dramatically tailed off in 2015 and Big Sam's men have only won twice in their fifteen matches since Boxing Day. It's been a difficult few months which have certainly not been aided by the perpetually crocked Andy Carroll. One has to feel sorry for the guy because on his day he can be unstoppable. The problem is, that's only three times a year.

Whilst I would expect Manchester City to get back to winning ways this weekend, I wouldn't even risk a bag of chocolate coins on them at 2/7 in this Premier League prediction. They have been absolutely dire of late and have already dropped points at home to the likes of Hull and Burnley this season. There are far better bankers available on the Man City v West Ham coupon to bet on, so have a punt on a City win with both teams to score at 9/5 with Coral. It may come as a surprise, but at 73%, West Ham United actually have the highest percentage in the league for BTTS matches whilst on their travels.

Moving over to the goalscoring market and for a pretty hefty longshot in the West Ham side. The Hammers currently have the best record in the Premier League for headed goals and I can see a lot of balls being pumped into the City half on Sunday. The hosts seem set to be without Vincent Kompany at the back and actually conceded two headed goals to Manchester United last weekend. At a whopping 66/1 with Paddy Power back Cheikhou Kouyate to score first in an each way bet for our next Man City v West Ham betting tip. The Senegalese international has scored four times since Christmas as well as in his last away game at Leicester City. Should Kouyate notch in the first five goals of the match, you'll be quids in.

Finally for a return to normality and Manchester City's David Silva is well priced to pick up the man of the match award with Bet Victor. The little Spaniard has won more of these gongs than I care to count and should play a key role in trying to break down a resolute West Ham defence. At 6/1 he offers far better value than Sergio Aguero and is much less likely to pull up injured in the first few minutes. Cue a broken leg at the hands of Kouyate.
