Monday night football sees the Manchester derby, as United host City at Old Trafford and the bookies make Manchester United favourites, but we aren't so sure they will win.

I think that even the most ardent City fan would admit that the title has gone back to Old Trafford this season. 15 points behind United with only 8 games to go, even a win here would only see them 12 behind with 21 to play. However, bragging rights in Manchester are still a big thing, and City would love to at least come close to the last time they visited Old Trafford, hiding them 6-1.
United’s stats this season are phenomenal, they’ve won 25 of their 30 league games, and won 14 of their 15 league games at Old Trafford. But, whilst they will undoubtedly win the league, they are limping a little bit as of late – they’ve only scored five in their last five, and Van Persie has only scored once in his last 12 games. Whisper it quietly, but for the first time in the league this season United look vulnerable.
City on the other hand appear to be hitting their stride in the closing stages – too late for the league, but just in time to face Chelsea in the FA Cup. Their ‘blip’ against Everton aside, they’ve won five of the last six, winning them all to nil, and scored 16 goals in the process. Tevez has seven goals in his last six games, and Kompany is back after two months out.
It seems ludicrous to be backing against the team 15 points clear in the league and with an almost perfect record in the league, but i’m siding with City here. I feel that City are in better form, and having lost the league to United they will want some final say in the rivalry. I can’t see either side keeping a clean sheet though, therefore backing the win with both teams to score at 17/4 with Ladbrokes looks like the best bet here.
In terms of who is actually going to score the goals, we can’t look beyond Carlos Tevez at the moment – as mentioned above, seven in his last six, and against his former club makes him an absolute shoe in. Expect some ridiculous goal celebration mocking his fine and community service for a driving ban to follow.
City to win with BTTS @ 17/4 (Ladbrokes)
First Goalscorer Tevez @ 7/1 (Paddy Power)
Correct score 2-1 City @ 12/1 (Stan James)
