Manchester City vs West Ham Preview

Manchester City will be looking to kick off their pre-season in style after their impressive 2018/19 campaign. City have conducted their transfer business with little fuss, securing the signing of Rodri, who looks to be the long-term successor to Fernandinho, and resigning Angelino to provide competition at left back.

West Ham will have a real task on their hands if as expected, they are yet to replace the outgoing Marko Arnautovic. The Hammers have had real trouble signing quality strikers for some time and are left short up front in the lead up to this match. Michael Antonio and Javier Hernandez look most likely to feature but West Ham have been linked with several strikers, so it would be a surprise if either were to start the Premier League season up front.

Yarmolenko looked an exciting prospect before his long-term injury and will be looking to use pre-season to get up to full fitness. This is expected to be an unsettled West Ham line up which is unlikely to pose a serious threat to Manchester City.
