MLS All Stars v Tottenham Predictions and Betting Tips

Tonight’s football predictions for MLS All Stars v Tottenham taking place in the early hours and we’ve got some free football tips.

As preseason friendlies go, there's a potentially entertaining match in the early hours of Thursday morning as Tottenham face off against the MLS All-Stars in Denver. The match kicks off on Sky Sports at the unsociable hour of 2am, but here are our predictions and football betting tips.

MLS All-Stars v Tottenham Predictions

Unlike many of their Premier League rivals that have been half way across the planet for their preseason tour, Tottenham have been keeping affairs a lot closer to home after a series of warm up matches behind closed doors. Most recently Mauricio Pochettino's men recorded an unremarkable 1-0 win over Reading thanks to a Christian Eriksen strike. Spurs now face two far more testing ties as they come up against a dangerous looking MLS side, before a mouth-watering tie against Real Madrid next week.

Heading into their match against Spurs, the MLS All-Stars are unfortunately missing most of their stars! The likes of Steven Gerrard, Robbie Keane, Frank Lampard, Andrea Pirlo, Michael Bradley and Sebastian Giovinco are all absent with injuries. Nevertheless, there are still some quality performers in their ranks with the household names of Kaka and David Villa both likely to feature.

Browsing the odds for the match, and the price for the MLS All-Stars has rocketing to 15/8 following several key withdrawals. Spurs can be backed at 13/10, with the draw on offer at 29/10.

Considering the names that are missing from the MLS side and the fact many of the players will not be familiar with each other, I'm edging towards the Spurs win for my football predictions on Thursday morning.

Of course you never know when it comes to friendlies, but Tottenham seem decent value at 13/10 with Bet365 to pick up the win and that’s my first football tip.

Heading over to the over/under goals market and one thing I've noticed lately in the MLS; they love a few goals in their games. To put this in perspective, New York City's last two home matches have finished 4-4, 5-3 and Toronto FC's last two away have been 3-3 and 4-4. This seems to be a common trait in the league.

With this in mind, have a crack at over 4.5 goals at 11/4 with William Hill for my next MLS All-Stars v Spurs prediction.

Finally for a forage through the goalscoring market, and since I'm not the manager of either team, I can't say who will start with any certainty. However, surely David Villa will get the nod up front for the MLS All-Stars. The former Barcelona man has eight goals in his last six matches in for NYC FC and should be fighting it out with Kaka for set-piece duties.

At 6/1 with Bet365, back Villa to score the first goal of the match for my third football betting tip on the late night match.
