Croatia vs Spain Predictions

Group 4 is still up for grabs and Spain could secure qualification with a victory in Zagreb. Croatia will be looking to banish memories of their 6-0 hammering at the hands of La Roja earlier in the tournament but they’ve taken a backwards step since the summer and they could struggle once again. Spain won at Wembley but somehow lost in Seville and they will be looking to make amends for that disappointing result here. Croatia can still qualify but they would need to beat both Spain and England inside four days. A tough ask. Zlatko Dalic has mixed things up with the addition of three new faces as he desperately searches for his side’s first Nations League victory. Their goalless draw against England was played in front of an empty stadium but they will have some support in this fixture at least. Spain slipped up against the Three Lions but they fought back well and aside from a few moments of madness at the back, they should have got something from the game.  They will need to win this game outright if they wish to secure qualification as they can’t risk missing out on head-to-heads with England’s away goals putting them narrowly ahead of Luis Enrique’s men (should it come down to it). Although Croatia will be motivated for revenge here and playing in front of their own fans, I think Spain will edge this one. They must win to avoid this group going down to the wire and without Mario Mandzukic, Croatia lack a focal point. The Juventus man was a battering ram whose hold up play was extremely effective during the World Cup but he has since retired from international football.

Spain to Win is available at 23/20 with Betway and that is the first of our Croatia vs Spain predictions for Thursday night.

Croatia vs Spain Under/Over Betting Tip

There is plenty at stake here and that should see this game get off to a fast start. Croatia will be motivated by revenge but they will also need three points in order to keep their chances of qualifying alive. They have a number of new players who will be looking to impress and the likes of Duje Caleta-Car and Nikola Vlasic have been in good form in recent months. Spain haven’t been at their defensive best recently and conceded four times to England. The Spanish camp appears to be a happy one and the inclusion of Jordi Alba has gone down well with the majority of the players and they should be able to score a few goals in this fixture. Under Luis Enrique, Spain are more direct and should create plenty of chances.

Over 2.5 Goals is available at 11/10 with William Hill and is the second of our Nations League betting tips.

Croatia vs Spain Anytime Goalscorer Betting Tip

There is plenty of competition in forward areas for Spain and La Roja fans will be pleased to see Alvaro Morata given another chance. The Chelsea forward has endured a barren twelve months but he’s come back from a spell in the wilderness and he’s starting firing again for the Blues. The 26-year old has scored five times since the beginning of October and has three in his last four. He’s heading into the International Break full of confidence and he should be able to add to his season tally. He may have to settle for a place on the bench but he should be sharp and has a good record at International level. Alvaro Morata to Score Anytime is priced at 13/5 with Paddy Power and looks a good price to find the net.

Alvaro Morata is the third of our Croatia vs Spain predictions and he is 13/5 with Paddy Power.

Croatia vs Spain Betting Preview

Spain start as the favourites for this tie and it isn’t surprising considering their recent record against this opposition. They’ve won two of their last three trips to Croatia but it was their 6-0 demolition which skews these odds slightly. They can be backed at 23/20. Croatia should be tougher and harder to break down on home soil and can be backed at 14/5 whilst it’s 12/5 for the game to end all square.

The bookies are finding it tough to decide on the BTTS market with Both Teams to Score? Yes and No available at 5/6. Croatia failed to find the net against England during their last home game. With that in mind, Under 2.5 Goals is likely to be popular and can be backed at 8/11. Over 2.5 Goals is our tipster’s preferred selection at a nice price of 11/10.

Finally, the first goalscorer market makes interesting reading with Alvaro Morata available at 4/1. Iago Aspas is also likely to play some part and can be backed at 11/2. Marco Asensio could also be heavily involved and is available at 7/1 to break the deadlock. For Croatia, Ante Rebic enjoyed a good World Cup and is 17/2 to bag the opener. The ever-dangerous Ivan Perisic is next in the market and can be backed at 9/1.
