Nations League predictions

Russia vs Turkey predictions and Nations League betting tips for Sunday afternoon’s fixture. Kick-off is 5pm on the 14th of October and our tipster has selected three recommended bets.

Russia vs Turkey Predictions

Russia are fighting to keep top spot in their UEFA Nations League group. The 2018 World Cup hosts are in League B, Group 2 and have collected four points from a possible six. Stanislav Cherchesov’s side have been playing well and are vying for promotion from this particular section. They face Turkey for the second time inside five weeks and after their 2-1 success in Trabzon, they will be heavily favoured in this fixture. They don’t just reserve their best performances for competitive action either and they hit five past Czech Republic at the beginning of September. Turkey are undergoing a transitional phase under their new coach, Mircea Lucescu and they appear to be heading in the right direction. After slipping up against the Russians, they squeezed past World Cup quarter-finalists Sweden before holding Bosnia and Herzegovina to a goalless draw. They have a number of dangerous players and could ask plenty of questions of this Russian defence. The hosts probably deserved to beat Sweden during their last encounter but I’m wary of an ever-improving Turkish side. Both sides carry a threat and I think it could end all-square. Draw is available at 23/10 with 888Sport and it looks the best of the three outcomes in this game. It is the first of our Russia vs Turkey predictions for Sunday afternoon.

Russia vs Turkey Under/Over Odds

Russia scored plenty of goals at the 2018 World Cup and they are likely to deploy both Artem Dzyuba and Denis Cheryshev in this match. They will provide a constant threat throughout the 90 minutes. Turkey may have kept a clean sheet during their last International Friendly but they have conceded four goals so far in their opening two Nations League games. In the final third, they always offer a threat and have netted four times in those encounters. Emre Akbaba was the hero against Sweden and he could come off the bench and change the game once again. Russia’s game with Sweden was a more tactical affair but this should be far more open and end-to-end and Over 2.5 Goals looks like a decent outcome. It’s 5/4 with Betfred and it is the second of our Russia vs Turkey predictions in Sochi.

Russia vs Turkey Anytime Goalscorer Odds

The two players that will provide Russia’s main goal threat should both feature and the pair both found the net during the reverse fixture. Artem Dzyuba is the favourite in the anytime goalscorer market and he is also likely to be on penalty duty here. The striker will play his usual physical game and won’t give the Turkish defence a moment’s peace. He’s netted in three of Russia’s last six competitive fixtures and is available at 5/4 with William Hill. He is the third of our Russia vs Turkey predictions.

Russia vs Turkey Match Betting Preview

Russia Win – Evens

Draw – 11/5

Turkey Win – 11/4

Russia begin as the favourites for this clash and can be backed at Evens. They will be looking to use home advantage to pick up three valuable points here. Turkey will not go down without a fight and they will need to pick up something to keep their chances of promotion alive. They can be backed at 11/4 and they already have an away win to their name in this competition. The draw, which is the selection of our football tipster is available at 11/5.

The first meeting between the pair was a decent spectacle and there were plenty of chances at both ends. Both Teams to Score? Yes has landed in both of Turkey’s games so far and is Evens to cash in again here. It’s 5/4 for Over 2.5 Goals in this fixture and on recent evidence, Over 3.5 Goals might be worth a look at 10/3.

The third of our Russia vs Turkey predictions is Artem Dzyuba and he is 7/2 to net the opening goal of the game. Dmitry Poloz has also netted for Russia recently and he is available at 11/2. Cenk Tosun is available at 6/1 to open the scoring.
