Slovakia vs Czech Republic Predictions

Neither Slovakia nor the Czech Republic have got their Nations League campaigns off to the best of starts, with table toppers Ukraine already six points ahead of both. I’m not normally one to pre-judge matches for their potential entertainment levels, but this one hardly looks a likely thriller on paper. The last time these two met was in 2015 – a pretty insipid encounter generating a solitary goal. You can make a case for suggesting that both teams need to win and that sitting back does neither any good, but a desperate need for points doesn’t necessary translate into a high scoring game. For that reason, I’m backing ‘no’ in the both teams to score market, which would have landed in the previous two meetings. That’s 5/6 with Betfair.

Slovakia vs Czech Republic Half-Time Result Betting Tip

I’ve already outlined what I see happening in this game and so from a betting perspective, there’s no need to deviate from that! Historically speaking, there’s never really been too much to separate these two countries as far as football is concerned and it’s hardly surprising that they’ve been pitted against one another in this competition. Do I see either side stamping their mark on the match early and establishing a lead? Not really. A draw at the interval looks massive at 6/5, and I’d actually go as far as to say that seems a likely result at the end of the 90 minutes.

Slovakia vs Czech Republic Total Goals Odds

If you’ve not already picked up, I’m not expecting one of the great games to unfold in Slovakia this weekend. That doesn’t mean it’s not an opportunity for us to scope out some value and propose some feasible punts, however! I just think there’s a real likelihood that these two cancel each other out given that neither side really have a discernible claim to be considered a better side than their opponents. A thrilling high-scoring draw is of course possible, but certainly not probable. I like the look of under 2.5 goals being scored, though, and that’s 4/7 with Betfair.

Slovakia vs Czech Republic Betting Preview

Slovakia to win – 11/10

Draw – 13/5

Czech Republic to win – 5/2

Slovakia are odds-against favourites for this one, with home advantage almost certainly a massive factor in prices being the way they are. The longest you’ll find them is 11/10, with a number of firms offering said price.

It’s fair to conclude that the Czechs are not quite they side they once were, with some of football’s romantics remembering the good old days of Pavel Nedved and company. There’s no real marquee player amidst their current ranks, but the same can arguably be said, too, of Slovakia.

All signs seem to point to a tight affair, which makes the 13/5 up for grabs on a draw a fair consideration if nothing else.
