Newport have made the headlines plenty of times this season, largely for their FA Cup exploits. The Exiles were only eliminated from the competition by Premier League champions-elect Manchester City, and Mike Flynn’s side always perform when the pressure is on. One of the notable things about the Exiles is that they always perform solidly at Rodney Parade, and teams always find it difficult to beat them on their own patch. You would expect Newport to control the game, and have the measure of a Mansfield side, who stumbled their way to the finishing line. The Welshmen are ten games unbeaten, and also kept fellow play-off contenders Tranmere off the score-sheet here.

The Stags are highly likely to turn things around in Nottinghamshire next week, but it is probable that they will have a deficit to make up in that tie.
