Monaco all but secured their Ligue 1 safety with a 2-0 home win over Amiens last weekend but that was their first win in eight matches and they will be glad to see the back of this season. The failed appointment of Thierry Henry as manager will be the stand-out point of the season and after a 2nd place finish last season, their fans are understandably furious about this season’s events. Nice have another former Arsenal player in charge and Patrick Vieria has done well on the south coast, guiding his team to a top half finish and they could end the season 7th win a win here.

The Derby de la Côte d’Azur rounds off this season for both teams and we’re betting on Nice to continue their excellent home form with a victory here. They’ve only lost one of their last 13 Ligue 1 matches at the Allianz Riviera and despite the bookies pricing Monaco up as favourites because of their precarious league position, the 21/10 for a Nice victory could be a great bet tonight. Nice’s defensive record is also very good at home and with Monaco’s injury crisis not improving, there is every chance that they will fail to score tonight.

Monaco have gone through two managers this season and just about survived relegation thanks to last weekend’s victory. They have only won one of their last nine away matches and that was a shock 0-1 win at second placed Lille, but they do draw a lot of matches. Five of those last nine games have ended in draws. A point would be enough to absolutely guarantee safety tonight but given that they’d need to be on the wrong end of a seven goal swing with Caen, they can start planning for next season in the top flight.
