Norwich v Middlesbrough Betting Tips and Predictions – Championship tips 17/04/15
Championship betting predictions for Friday night’s Norwich v Middlesbrough match with free football tips from our footy pundit tipster.
With Watford winning on Wednesday night, it’s as you were at the top of the table in the Championship. Norwich sit in second place whilst Middlesbrough are 4th, both could easily find themselves in the Premier League next season, but equally either could suffer play-off heartache late in May.
Norwich v Middlesbrough Predictions
There are just three games left in the most exciting and competitive league in the world and just two points separate the top four, it could be anybody’s, but this game will be pivotal.
Alex Neil has picked up 45 points from a possible 57 since joining Norwich, a phenomenal record. The former Hamilton man has a win percentage in the 70s and has transformed a side playing well below expectation earlier in the season, our Norwich v Middlesbrough betting tips could be swaying towards a home win.
Aitor Karanka has done magnificently to keep Boro’ competitive in the top 4. They’ve had a couple of slip ups recently, usually against fellow top 4 sides, but they saw off a determined Wolves on Tuesday and this is the last of the difficult obstacles they have to face.
I think this will go the way of the home side. They have been unstoppable and have only lost twice under Neil. Middlesbrough were poor away at Watford and also at Bournemouth where they may as well have stayed in Teesside and they could struggle against a sensational Norwich side.
Albert Adomah limped off with what looked like a hamstring injury on Tuesday and that could be a major blow for the away side in the run-in. Jonathon Woodgate and Dimi also picked up injuries, but the latter two should be alright to face the Canaries.
I can’t see past Norwich winning this game for my tipster prediction, they are on home soil and with just one defeat in their last 16 games, they should have too much for Boro, who have a much smaller squad and are suffering with a few knocks.
Even without Bradley Johnson, they have several options in midfield and with players like Jonny Howson, Graham Dorrans, Nathan Redmond and Wes Hoolahan, they will create plenty of chances.
Our football pundits prediction for today thinks you should bet on Norwich to win against Middlesbrough on Friday, the best odds are 11/10 with Bet365.
This game could go either way on the goals front, both teams have two of the best defences in the league and Boro have conceded very few goals this season. Just 33 goals leaked in 44 games is impressive at any level and despite a couple of defensive doubts, they could frustrate the home side and it could be settled by a single goal or two.
Likewise, the men in green and yellow don’t have a bad backline themselves. Russell Martin has just signed a new contract and Sebastian Bassong is having a good spell in the back 4, under 2.5 goals could be the way to go.
The second football betting tip is for under 2.5 goals at odds of 4/5 with Ladbrokes.
Cameron Jerome is the favourite to score and I can’t disagree with this. He may not have scored in midweek, but he can score both tap-ins and scorchers. He can create space for himself and he may in the right place at the right time for Norwich.
Our third Nowrich v Middlesbrough bet tip is for Cameron Jerome to score anytime at 15/8 with Stan James.
