Norwich are currently six points adrift with just nine left to play, having only won five all season. Southampton come into this tie with safety virtually assured thanks to a good run of form through December and January.

Norwich have won just twice since the start of December. Their only wins were 1-0 victories against Bournemouth and, most recently, Leicester. This poor run has left the Canaries bottom of the league, six points from safety.

Their early season promise never materialised into points, giving Daniel Farke an uphill task for the remainder of the campaign.

They have a mixed record against sides below them in the table, winning five and losing three of their eight games. One of those five wins was their 2-1 victory in the reverse fixture back in December.

Danny Ings scored just once in Southampton’s final seven games before lockdown, going off the boil as the season drew to a halt. Only four players have outscored the former Liverpool man so far this season.
