Plymouth v Wycombe Betting Tips and Predictions | League Two Play-Offs

Plymouth v Wycombe predictions and weekend football betting tips for their League Two play-off semi-final from our football tipster.

Gareth Ainsworth’s side make the trip to Devon for this first leg of the Play-off Semi Finals.

Plymouth v Wycombe Predictions 9th May 2015

It’s been quite a transformation for the Chairboys who were playing for their League Two status this time last year. On the final day, a victory over Torquay coupled with Mansfield conquering Bristol Rovers meant the Buckinghamshire side got a stay of execution.

They have reacted with aplomb. Being tipped by many football tipsters to struggle once again or at a push, finish comfortably mid-table, they have defied all those expectations and been competing at the right end of the table. Ainsworth has used the loan system to his advantage and there have been some superb acquisitions on a temporary basis most of whom are able to play in these games. Fred Onyedinma may have been quiet of late, but he was firing them in earlier this year, whilst Alfie Mawson and Nico Yennaris both scored on the final day of the season and Sam Saunders has also proved a valuable addition.

Plymouth meanwhile have had a decent season and they have been benefitted greatly by the goal of Reuben Reid. John Sheridan is an experienced manager and knows how to guide his side to promotion. They sold captain Connor Hourihane to Barnsley which was a blow, but they have kept up the pace and with Peter Hartley, Anthony O’Connor and Carl McHugh at the back, they don’t concede huge swathes of goals and can be confident ahead of this tie.

Mixed form for both these sides going into this match, Plymouth beat Shrewsbury on the last day of the season, which is superb form, but they previous away goal, they limped to a 2-0 defeat to Carlisle, but they should be better than that at home.

The last five meetings between these teams dating back to 2012 have all ended with victories to the away side. Following on from that sequence, there may be value in backing Wycombe Draw No Bet for our weekend football tips.

The away side are 5/4 Draw No Bet and with them showing great resilience of late, scoring late on against Northampton and Paul Hayes’ 92nd minute penalty, their never say die attitude instilled by the manager can stand them in good stead here.

Our first Plymouth v Wycombe betting tip is for Wycombe Draw No Bet and the odds are 5/4 at Coral.

Play Off first legs are usually quite tight, but both these sides have attacking talent in abundance and I can see both sides finding the back of the net here. Wycombe have forgotten how to defend resolutely lately, whilst they also possess the pace and power to get in behind Plymouth.

Our football tipster is therefore having a bet on both teams to score at 23/20 with Bet Victor.

We’ve mentioned Rueben Reid and his goalscoring exploits already in our Plymouth v Wycombe predictions, but they also have the skilful Lewis Allesandra. The former Morecambe may put in the occasional disinterested performance, but when he sets his mind to it, he is up there with the best of the League Two players. He could net during the 90 minutes.

Our third and final Plymouth v Wycombe prediction is for Lewis Allesandra to score anytime at 11/4 with Bet Victor.
