Two of the most unreliable teams in the Premier League meet at Loftus Road as QPR take on Liverpool.
Liverpool are the favourites at a best price of Evens with Blue Square, whereas QPR can be backed at a 55/17 with Pinnacle, whom also offer the best price of the draw, 45/17.
I should at this point let you all know that it’s my Birthday on the day of the game, and seeing as QPR aren’t going to give me the birthday present I want, you can all at least wish me happy birthday on twitter instead (@andy_hillman)
QPR come into this game in mixed form – having arrested the slump under Hughes, Redknapp oversaw an upturn in fortunes, with three draws and a win in his first four games, however QPR have lost their last two, and are back at the foot of the table, five points from safety. Liverpool, as ever, can win a game 4-0 (home against Fulham) and then follow it up by losing 3-1 at home in their next game against Villa. They lost 3-1 at Stoke last time out, and were comprehensively outplayed in the process.
Despite being an eternally optimistic QPR fan, I can’t see us winning here. But backing Liverpool to win is also a mugs game. In the circumstances, the draw looks like the best option. But instead of getting odds of a little better than 5/2 with Pinnacle as mentioned above, you can get nearly 4/1 on the draw by using my favourite William Hill loophole – back both teams to come from behind to draw at 8/1, and you’ve got 4/1 on any draw that isn’t goal-less – and QPR aren’t keeping a clean sheet anytime soon! You’ve got the added bonus that if it’s a seesaw game that sees both teams come from behind to draw, William Hill pays out on both results. It goes without saying then, that the 4/5 on Both teams to score, again with William Hill, should definitely be taken.
In terms of whom is going to score the goals, we need look no further than everyone’s favourite casually racist buck toothed Uruguayan magician, (can you tell who it is yet?) Luis Suarez. Liverpool are ridiculously reliant on Suarez for their goals, and provided he’s fit, the 11/2 on offer from BetVictor is exceedingly generous indeed. He is an injury doubt though (and as a QPR fan I can only hope that he’s out!) For QPR, it’s worth pointing out that Taarabt is as high as 10/1 to score first & 10/3 anytime, which is very generous considering that everything good about QPR’s play goes through him at the moment – back him to score anytime with Corals.
QPR to come from behind to draw @ 8/1 (William Hill) &
Liverpool to come from behind to draw @ 8/1 (William Hill)
Both teams to score @ 4/5 (William Hill)
Suarez to score first @ 11/2 (BetVictor)
Taarabt to score anytime @ 10/3 (Coral)
