There can’t be many teams out there that frustrate their supporters as much as Rangers surely do. Having beaten Celtic just before the turn of the year and edging themselves into a position where a league title was a realistic prospect, the Gers are now eight points adrift of their bitter rivals – who haven’t dropped a point since that match. They have however scored ten goals in their last two outings and recorded back-to-back 5-o wins over Kilmarnock and Hamilton.

The visit of Dundee in midweek presents Rangers with the perfect opportunity to keep that momentum going as they bid to reduce the gap between themselves and Celtic. Steven Gerrard will also be boosted by the return of Scottish Premiership top scorer Alfredo Morelos, who will be back following suspension. If Rangers continue to move the ball quickly, as they have in their last two games, then I fully expect a long night for Dundee. You can get 7/5 on the hosts winning by three goals or more which looks massive considering the away side have won just three times on the road up till now.

Anytime Scorer Prediction

If it’s an anytime goalscorer banker that you’re after for tonight’s Rangers vs Dundee predictions then why look any further than Colombian striker Alfredo Morelos? The controversial character is a bit of an enigma in the sense that he’s arguably as well known for his fiery temperament as he is for his fantastic forward play. Ignore the laughably biased Scottish media, Morelos is comfortably the best player north of the border and will have a whole host of keen suitors when he does inevitably leave Glasgow.

Most firms won’t offer any better than 4/7 on him notching against Dundee but 888Sport are prepared to be significantly more generous. Football Betting Tip for Tonight’s Fixture

One of the criticisms levelled at Rangers under Steven Gerrard is that if they don’t have a good start to a match, they can sometimes be guilty of running out of ideas and forcing the play. The recent 0-0 draw against St. Johnstone was a classic example of Rangers being unable to break down a sturdy if not average defence, which is probably the main difference between the two Glasgow giants. When the Light Blues click in to gear early they are very much a force to be reckoned with, however, and I feel an early goal could open the floodgates against Dundee.

Rangers were 4-0 up against Hamilton before the half-time whistled sounded on Sunday, and they cantered to victory in the second period knowing that the three points had been sewn up at the interval. And it’s not the first time that’s happened this season. For that reason, I really like the 12/5 available on the first half being the higher scoring of the two, which would have absolutely sailed in in the recent wins over Aberdeen and Hamilton.
