Real Madrid vs Arsenal Preview

Real Madrid kicked off their tournament with a disappointing 3-1 loss to Bayern Munich. The match saw Eden Hazard make his debut for Los Blancos. Real Madrid bought a lot of new first team players and it will take time for everyone to settle in. This will be only their second game of the pre-season and will be playing rivals Atletico Madrid next week.

Arsenal transfer failings this summer have been well documented. Most notably, their pursuit of Wilfried Zaha remains ongoing. The lack of any other first team signings may see Arsenal play with more cohesion. The refusal of club captain, Laurent Koscielny, to join up with the squad has not affected the North Londoners.

Arsenal kicked off their International Champions Cup campaign with a 2-1 win against Bayern Munich. This was then followed with a 3-0 win over Italian side Fiorentina. This will be Arsenal’s last game of the International Champions Cup and a win could see them top the table.

Real Madrid vs Arsenal Betting Tips

Arsenal’s stable preseason has served them well so far and it might be enough to get a result over the Spanish giants. The sheer volume of new arrivals should work against the Madrid side at this early stage of the season. Additionally, unrest over the Gareth Bale situation after Zinedine Zidane’s public comments may cause some disharmony within the squad.

As always, it’s a reasonable assumption to expect goals in preseasons games and this should be no different. Erring on the side of caution, putting over 2.5 in an over/under 2.5 goals betting tip would be a good move, or bet on over 3.5 goals outright.

Real Madrid’s revamped attack may take some time to gel but there’s no questioning the ability of likes of Eden Hazard and Luka Jovic. Arsenal’s defence has been far from solid in recent seasons and it would not be surprising to see the Spanish side score. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexander Lacazette are the star names upfront for the gunners, but Eddie Nketiah’s three goals in preseason are worth mentioning. Both teams to score looks a solid bet and the bookies agree, making it just 4/9.
