Saturday’s League Two Predictions – Bolton to win again & goals the bet at Cheltenham
Saturday’s League Two predictions include second place Cheltenham’s match against Exeter and a struggling Bradford City side who host Carlisle United. You can see the best 5 bets for the Championship below and a preview of each match.
Newport County are the current leaders in the League Two table but both Cheltenham and Exeter are hot on their heels and they meet at Whaddon Road.
At the other end, Bradford City are in the bottom three and without a win in their last six matches. The former Premier League team are in real trouble even at this early stage of the season.
Bolton v Port Vale, Saturday 3pm
- Bolton to Win and Over 2.5 goals – 11/4 with Paddy Power.
Bolton just seem to be getting better with every performance and lately are looking like a really good outfit, they picked up their fifth straight win in all competitions when they comprehensively defeated Southend 3-0 at home. Whilst Bolton were picking up their fifth straight win, Port vale were picking up their fifth straight loss in the league. They’re on a horrible run and pressure is heaping on John Askey, they were defeated by Leyton Orient 3-2 last time out and have failed to keep a clean sheet in 7 straight matches. Expect this one to go with the form book and Bolton run out winnings in a high scoring game.
Barrow v Salford, Saturday 3pm
- Salford -1 – 4/1 with Paddy Power.
Barrow’s honeymoon period to life in the football league has come to an end and they are realising the levels needed in the football league, they are winless in 7 straight games in all competitions and have slipped down to 20th in the table. They come into this game off a 1-0 away defeat to Morecambe and in Barrow’s last 12 home games they have only won once. As for Salford, new manager Richie Wellens is getting his side back on track and heading up the table with 2 good back to back wins in the league just before they fell to a 2-1 defeat to Carlise, they first defeated bradford 3-0 and followed that up with a good 2-1 win over Morecambe. Expect Salford to collect all 3 points at Barrow in a comfortable win.
Scunthorpe v Leyton Orient, Saturday 3pm
- Leyton Orient to Win – 6/4 with Paddy Power.
Scunthorpe come into this game off a brilliant 5-2 thriller away at Harrogate which they came out on top in, that being said their home record is poor, in 6 games they have lost 3 drawn 2 and only won once. Leyton Orient are on a run of 3 straight league wins and away from home this season they have been impressive. They currently have the 3rd best away record in the league picking up 13 points from their 8 away games. Expect this to be a tight game with Leyton Orient coming on top.
Bradford v Carlise, Saturday 3pm
- Carlise to Win and BTTS – 4/1 with bet365.
Bradford are on a poor run of form, with no wins in their last 6 games, losing 5 of them and drawing one, they currently sit 21st in the table and come into this game off a disappointing 2-1 home defeat to Cheltenham. Carlisle have been showing good signs in the past 11 games or so, and are coming into this game off an impressive 2-1 win over promotion hopefuls Salford, they currently sit one place outside the playoffs and will be looking for a positive result here. Bradford have conceded 9 goals in their last 4 home games and have only won once in 9 straight home games. Expect Carlisle to capitalise on Bradfords struggles at home and collect all 3 points here.
Cheltenham v Exeter, Saturday 3pm
- BTTS and Over 2.5 goals – 11/10 with bet365.
2nd place Cheltenham take on 3rd place Exeter on Saturday and this will be an intriguing contest one which should prove to be a thriller. Both sides are in excellent form and scoring plenty of goals, Cheltenham’s last 9 games has seen them win 6 draw 2, and only lose 1. On the other hand, games involving Exeter have been remarkable of late, their 3 game winning streak consist of the following results; Grimsby 1-4 Exeter. Gillingham 2-3 Exeter, Exter 6-1 Colchester. This game should produce goals, goals, and goals.
