Scotland kick-off their 2016 World Cup qualifying campaign against Serbia at Hampden Park on Saturday, as they look to qualify for the finals of a major tournament for the first time since 1998.

Scotland coach Craig Levein has a number of injury worries to contend with as he attempts to get his side off to a decent start against Serbia.  Both Danny Fox and Russell Martin have been ruled out whilst Charlie Mulgrew is a doubt, so Levein has called up Paul Dixon and Gary MacKenzie as cover.   Despite the injury concerns, Levein will be quietly confident of getting a result in Glasgow, where Scotland have lost only once in their last eight home games.

Serbia do not appear to be a side who travel well, as they have won only one of their last eight games on the road.  Their recent friendly results do not inspire much confidence either, with three defeats and a 0-0 draw against a pretty poor Republic of Ireland team.

Predicting the outcome of international matches is often difficult, however with home advantage Scotland have a great chance of getting off to a winning start against Serbia and at 17/10 I think it is worth backing Scotland to win.  Serbia have scored only one goal in their last four away matches and so a flutter on a 1-0 Scotland win is also deserving of a few quid.
