Roma vs Fiorentina predictions and betting tips for Wednesday’s Serie A clash on April 3rd with an anytime goalscorer tip and goals prediction included.
Roma were jeered off by their own fans on Sunday as they slipped to a second consecutive defeat under Claudio Ranieri. The former Leicester manager is struggling to get a tune out of his injury-hit squad, and they face another tough task against Fiorentina. Viola beat the Giallorossi 7-1 in the Coppa Italia earlier this season, but they’ve gone off the boil since, and they aren’t without their own issues, but they will fancy their chances of leaving the capital with something. See our Roma vs Fiorentina predictions below.
Both of these two sides are in danger of falling out of the European picture, and neither come into this tie in any sort of form. Roma have struggled since Claudio Ranieri took over, and he’s been unable to lift the squad. The hosts haven’t lost three consecutive Serie A games since May 2014, but they are in danger of matching that unwanted feat here. The Giallorossi were fairly ineffective at the weekend, and neither Edin Dzeko nor Patrick Schick seem comfortable playing alongside one another. There are still a few injury problems at the club, and Kostas Manolas is also suspended for this game. The problems are mounting up. Fiorentina may have thrashed their opponents in the Coppa Italia, but they have failed to kick on from that success, and they are treading water at the moment. They’ve only actually lost twice since Boxing Day, but too many draws have cast doubt over their European credentials. They were unable to see off Torino at the Artemio Franchi at the weekend, and their recent away form has been largely uninspiring. They’ve only won three times on the road this season, and since beating Milan in December, only SPAL and Chievo have been defeated to this side on their own patch. Roma don’t lost many at Stadio Olimpico, and Fiorentina don’t win many on the road, but it’s impossible to trust the hosts, so another draw seems likely. The visitors have drawn seven of their 15 away games, and an eighth stalemate seems likely. Draw is the first of our Roma vs Fiorentina betting tips for Wednesday.
Without Kostas Manolas, Roma’s defence is significantly weaker, although having said that, he hasn’t helped his side to a clean sheet since December 29th. Since that victory, the hosts have kept just a single shutout, which came against Chievo. Despite their problems, Roma have still managed to find the net in every home match this campaign, and It’s hard to imagine them failing to score against a leaky Fiorentina. Stefan Pioli’s men have netted in seven of their last eight away matches and BTTS has landed in each of their last five on the road. It would also have paid out in three of the last four meetings between these sides. BTTS is a short price, but it’s worth backing. We should see some goals here, but the 1-1 is a big player. Both Teams to Score? Yes is the second of our Roma vs Fiorentina predictions.
Luis Muriel has already scored against Roma this season, and he’ll be looking to double up against this opposition. He’s been in terrific form since arriving at the club and has eight for the campaign. He’s returned to Serie A in fine style, and although he hasn’t netted in the last three, he could get back amongst the goals here. No player is scoring regularly for Roma, although Diego Perotti has scored two penalties in as many outings. It makes sense to look towards the Fiorentina players for this one, and Luis Muriel offers some decent value at 12/5 to find the back of the net here. Luis Muriel to Score Anytime is the third of our Serie A betting tips for Wednesday’s game at Stadio Olimpico.
Roma start as the favourites for this tie, and it’s completely understandable, but they’re very hard to trust at the moment. They can be backed at Evens. The draw is the first of our betting tips, and can be backed at 5/2 here. Fiorentina don’t win many on the road, but they’re available at 11/4 to pick up just their fourth away victory of the season here.
The bookies are expecting some goals in this game, and it’s 8/11 for Over 2.5 Goals in this tie. Over 3.5 Goals could also be a tempter at 7/4. Both Teams to Score? Yes is 8/13.
Edin Dzeko is still the deadliest player on the pitch, and he can be backed at 4/1 to open the scoring in this one. Strike partner Patrick Schick is 6/1 to break the deadlock. Diego Perotti has netted each of Roma’s last two goals from the spot, and can be backed at 7s.
