Going into the game, Tottenham are favourites at Evens with Paddy Power, the draw is 12/5 and Arsenal are 11/4 to get the three points.

Both teams were in Europa League action on Thursday evening and Harry Kane missed that match against LASK with a knock but he is expected to return to the side against the Gunners. See all the expert predictions below and the odds for each bet.

Thatsagoal Prediction – Spurs to win

“Top of the league at the start of the gameweek with the chance to widen the gap to 11 points on their North London rivals. Spurs’ and Arsenal’s form are worlds apart right now and that’s reflected in the odds.

Even so, at just under evens, José Mourinho’s side look well priced to claim a home win. Harry Kane has a fantastic record in the NDL and his partnership with Son could be the difference as Arsenal struggle for goals.”

Mark Lawrenson’s Prediction

Tottenham are a better side than Arsenal, a more reliable side and they are superior defensively which is in large part down to the manager and his philosophy. You can see all of Lawro’s Premier League predictions here for every weekend.

Jose Mourinho’s forwards Harry Kane and Son Heung-min have also been the best two in the league bar anybody and will give the Gunners defence a tough time assuming Kane is fit.

Arsenal don’t seem to have leaders at the moment – so when the going gets tough they don’t going.

Their new signing Thomas Partey looked a player in midfield, but just as he got started he got injured. They really miss him.

And in attack, since Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang signed his contract… has he been away? It’s just that one goal since the start of November.

It’s a derby with that added incentive, but without much of a crowd, it’ll be a strange one.

Lawro’s prediction: 2-0 to Tottenham – 8/1 with Paddy Power.

Sky Sports’ Prediction

“Mikel Arteta – once a tactical genius, now a poor man’s Unai Emery.

Of course, I jest, that’s far from the truth.

He wasn’t the second coming when he was out-mastering Pep Guardiola en route to winning an FA Cup and he’s far from washed-up has-been now.

However, his chat this week about Arsenal’s crossing stats has left me wondering whether he is as savvy as many made him out to be. As my colleague, Adam Bate wrote in his brilliant analysis of Areta’s crossing statistics: “It can sometimes be seen as a sign of desperation, indicative of a team that has resorted to flinging balls into the box when unable to break down a defence by more efficient means.”

Nail on the head. Arsenal’s patterns of play in forward areas are coming across as desperate. Barring a Gabriel header from one of those hopeful crosses and a Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang penalty, Arsenal haven’t troubled the scorers in their last six games. The last thing they need is a Jose Mourinho marshalled defence to break down.

Since the 3-3 draw with West Ham, Spurs have shipped just one goal in five games with clean sheets against Manchester City and Chelsea to their name. It’s time to go back to the Tottenham to win by goal theory again, this week you can get 11/4 – no manager does it better than Jose.”

John Cross Prediction (Daily Mirror)

“I think Tottenham are in a much better place than Arsenal right now. The Kane and Son double act is deadly, good in midfield, good recruitment in the summer, Jose has the bit between his teeth.

Will be amazing to have fans back.

But don’t think it’ll help Arsenal. Not sure on Leno, issues at the back, a real lack of creativity and Aubameyang off form.

I still think Arteta is a good manager but I never believed it would just happen in a year and they’d make top four this time.

Give him time. Stop being impatient but some of the deals, like Willian, worry me more about the recruitment than the manager.

But Mourinho’s in the box seat. Spurs big favourites and will win.”

The Telegraph Prediction

“In the 107 years that Arsenal and Tottenham have been contesting matches as local rivals, no player has scored more goals in north London derbies than Harry Kane. The England striker has netted a remarkable 10 times in 11 Premier League matches and is worth backing to add to his tally here.

Although the 27-year-old is operating in a slightly more withdrawn role this season, this hasn’t affected his goalscoring, and he has 13 in as many appearances for Spurs in all competitions.

Kane is also managing to get shots off on a regular basis with only Leeds United’s Patrick Bamford registering more attempts on goal in the league this season.

Although he was ruled out of Thursday’s 3-3 draw at LASK Linz in the Europa League, Kane should start on Sunday and looks a threat to bag at any time.”

Harry Kane to score anytime – 11/10 with Paddy Power.

Harry Kane is tipped to score against Arsenal if he is fit.

Evening Standard Prediction

“It is a fair point that some of Arsenal’s best results under Mikel Arteta have come in games they were not expected to win, but they did, on those occasions, have a firing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

With their star man woefully out of form, it is hard to see how the Gunners can both keep Spurs at bay and create their own chances.”

Tottenham to win 2-0 – 8/1 with Paddy Power.

Dimitar Berbatov Prediction (The Metro)

“I’m backing my old club, not only because another three points is what I want to see, but because Spurs are playing great football and getting results. They can march on and continue their great year with a win in the North London derby.”

Michael Owen Prediction

“Arsenal’s performance has dipped in recent weeks. It’s been particularly noticeable that they’ve not had the same swagger at home as they’ve had in recent seasons. ‘Spurs have been playing well. They’ve adapted to Jose Mourinho’s style of play and could be in with an outside chance of winning the league. Jose has set up to play on the counter a lot this season, and I think they could further benefit if he opened up and went at teams a bit more.

Based on form I can’t see anything other than a Spurs win. They have talent throughout their team, and if they keep going at this rate, they could have a surprisingly big season.”
