Super Sunday returns this weekend, and first up its Tottenham who host Swansea at White Hart Lane in what should be a cracking game of football.

Spurs start as 8/13 favourites to win the match, Swansea are a 9/2 shot, whilst the draw can be backed at 3/1.  All odds quoted are available with Bet365.

In the Premier League, only Manchester United have averaged more goals scored than Tottenham this season with AVB’s side finding the net an average of 3.38 times per game.  Unfortunately for Spurs, that statistic is tempered by the fact that they have the worst defensive record in the top ten.  The men from the Lane have won three of their last four league matches, although they have failed to win four of their eight home league matches this season.

Before Swansea kicked a ball in this season’s Premier League campaign, they were many a respected pundit’s favourite for relegation.  But Michael Laudrup has had other ideas, arguably improving the side from last season and leading them to their current position of eighth in the table.  If the Swans can take all three points in London then they will go level on points with Tottenham, and so what better incentive for the Welsh side to go all out for the win.  Since mid-November, Swansea have been in decent form, defeating Newcastle, West Brom and Arsenal and taking a point at home against Liverpool.  They are unbeaten in their last three away matches and it would not be a huge surprise to see Swansea taking something at Spurs, although the odds do suggest otherwise.  Perhaps that is something to do with the 4-3 defeat at home to Norwich last week.

If like me you are prepared to forgive that result to Norwich last weekend, then surely the value lies in backing Swansea.  I mean, do you really want to take 8/13 about a Spurs side that have won only half of their home matches in the league this season?  That is too short a price and too risky a bet for me, so I will be backing Swansea at 9/2 for the win along with 3-1 Swansea at a juicy 40/1.  Cover your bets by taking the 4/6 available for both teams to score.
