Wales betting tips

Wales vs Spain predictions and International Friendly betting tips for Thursday night’s fixture. Kick-off is 7:45pm on the 11th of October and our tipster has selected three recommended bets.

Wales vs Spain Predictions

Our football predictions this week comes from an International Friendly between Wales and Spain. Ryan Gigg’s side warm up for their clash with the Republic of Ireland by facing Luis Enrique’s Spain at the Principality Stadium. Welsh fans will be keeping a keen eye on the progress of a number of their players including Aaron Ramsey and Gareth Bale. The latter is to be presented with an award ahead of the match to acknowledge this goalscoring exploits however, he didn’t train on Monday and may not be risked in this contest. Giggs has told reporters that there is ‘no pressure’ on Bale to play after the Real Madrid man picked up a knock during his side’s shock defeat to Alaves at the weekend. If he does feature, he will be facing a number of his team-mates including Isco and Sergio Ramos. Spain have been much better since Luis Enrique took over and that has pleased the fans. After a hugely frustrating World Cup campaign which saw La Roja exit the competition at the hands of Russia, the change in dynamic has been welcomed by Spanish supporters. They picked up two great results in the UEFA Nations League with an eye-catching 6-0 success over Croatia being the pick of the pair. The players appear to be enjoying the freedom given to them under the new regime and that could spell trouble for Wales. Giggs has had some mixed performances since he took over from Chris Coleman and although we can’t read too much into the 6-0 success over China, the 4-1 battering of Ireland was a terrific outcome. However, they failed to register a shot on target against Denmark, falling to a 2-0 defeat and that is a huge concern. Spain have been backed in all week and they can be backed at around 1/3 at the moment. That’s too short for us so we’d prefer to opt for -1 handicap which is available at 23/20 with Betfred. This is the first of our Wales vs Spain predictions.

Wales vs Spain Under/Over Odds

Wales aren’t as solid as they once were and they should play their part in an entertaining game. Spain are far more direct under Enrique and although they are still handy in possession, they won’t be playing keep ball for the sake of it. This is a friendly and there is little to lose for both sides. La Roja hit six past Croatia and two past England and they should be able to grab at least a couple of goals here. Without Gareth Bale, Wales lack that extra class but they still have plenty of talent in their squad. The likes of Sam Vokes and David Brooks are likely to cause problems for the opposition and we should see a few goals at the Principality Stadium. Over 2.5 Goals is 5/6 with Ladbrokes and that seems like a reasonable price. Over 2.5 Goals is the second of our Wales vs Spain predictions.

Wales vs Spain Anytime Goalscorer Odds

Our third of our International Friendly predictions comes from the anytime goalscorer market and we highly recommend checking the team news before placing a bet in this market. These games can often throw up changes and unexpected shake-ups and there are a few new names in the squad. Paco Alcacer disappeared from the squad altogether last year but he’s earned a recall and Enrique is a fan of the Borussia Dortmund man. It remains to be seen whether he starts this game but he’s been on fire in the Bundesliga and he is surely worth a play in the anytime goalscorer market. The 25-year old has only played four times in all competitions this season but he’s netted seven times and comes off the back of scoring a hat-trick against Augsburg at the weekend. He is available 6/4 to score anytime in this fixture with Betway and is the third of our Wales vs Spain predictions.

Wales vs Spain Match Betting Preview

Wales Win – 8/1

Draw – 15/4

Spain Win – 4/11

Spain are unsurprisingly favourites for this tie and can be backed at 4/11. They are perfect fodder for an accumulator bet this week. They are much improved under Luis Enrique and they are full of confidence after they domineering display against the World Cup finalists. Our football tipster has opted for -1 on the handicap which is available at 23/20 however those who wish to dig a little deeper can take -2 at 11/4. Interestingly Spain have conceded in four of their last six International friendlies so Both Teams to Score? Yes might be a decent angle here and is value at 6/5. Spain to Win and Both Teams to Score is available at 5/2.

There are many players who could find the back of the net in this fixture including the aforementioned Paco Alcacer who is 15/4 to net the opener. Iago Aspas is 4/1 whilst Rodrigo, who scored in both of his countries Nations League games is available at 5/1. Sergio Ramos is always a threat from set-pieces and netted against Croatia and the divisive defender is 10/1 to break the deadlock here. For Wales, Sam Vokes is available at 14/1.
