West Brom vs Blackburn Betting Tips

West Brom sit eighth in the Championship table, and are just one of four sides who remain unbeaten after five games. The Baggies are tough to beat, and they’ve needed some late goals to rescue points in recent weeks. Slaven Bilic’s men are yet to concede more than a single goal in any game this season, although they’ve only scored seven times themselves. There hasn’t been much in West Brom’s games this campaign, but they will be expected to get the better of Blackburn Rovers on Saturday afternoon. The last time that the Baggies remained unbeaten in their opening five matches was 2009-10, a season in which they were eventually promoted to the Premier League. Each of their last two goals have come from the penalty spot, and fans will be hoping to see Kenneth Zohore score from open play in this game. The summer signing has kept his cool from twelve yards in the last two games, but he’s missed a number of decent chances already this campaign. They don’t have a great record against Rovers, winning just three of their last 15 matches against Tony Mowbray’s men.

Despite the sale of Charlie Mulgrew, Blackburn’s defence has held up rather well this season. They have kept three consecutive clean sheets coming into this game, although it’s just over 14 years since they managed four consecutive shutouts. At the other end of the pitch, Rovers have struggled for firepower, with reports of a jaded-looking Danny Graham struggling against Cardiff last weekend. The visitors have scored just once from open play this campaign, with a Dillon Phillips own-goal and the aforementioned Danny Graham converting from the spot providing two of their three strikes so far this season. They’ve avoided defeat in eight of their last 13 visits to this stadium, but they could struggle to find a way past Bilic’s men here. Mowbray’s men are functional at the moment, but they are lacking a bit of x-factor in the final third. Sam Gallagher’s goal in the EFL Cup in midweek could spark a run of form for the former Birmingham loanee, and fans will be hoping that he is the answer to the club’s goalscoring issues.

I’m not absolutely convinced by West Brom this season, but they are incredibly tough to beat, and have shown great resilience so far. Blackburn’s lack of firepower is a concern, and Tony Mowbray may have to make a few changes in order to unlock the attacking potential in his side. The Baggies two victories have both been a single goal so far, and I expect that pattern to continue. West Brom to win is available at 5/6 with Betway, and that looks like the best option in this Saturday afternoon fixture.

This is unlikely to be a high-scoring game, and it could be worth backing 2-3 goals to land once again. This bet would have paid out in every single West Brom fixture so far this campaign whilst two of Blackburn’s five games also fell into this category. The two fixtures last season ended 2-1 and 1-1 and tt is available at 11/10 with Betvictor.
