West Ham vs Tottenham Match Preview and Betting Tips

Spurs travel to Upton Park to face a struggling West Ham in this capital city derby with both teams in very different form.

West Ham – 13/5 Stan James

Draw – 5/2 BlueSq

Tottenham – 5/4 Bet Victor

The Hammers are on a poor run of form at the minute with just 1 win in their last 6 games (W1 D1 L4), however their home form is a little better with 3 wins, a draw and 2 defeats in their last 6. At home West Ham have only failed to score once this season which was a goalless draw against Manchester City and BTTS (both teams to score) has come in, in 5/6 of their last home games. Skybet are offering 8/11 for BTTS which seems decent given that Tottenham have scored in 5/6 of their last away games.

One big head ache for Big Sam will be how to deal with the Welsh wizard that is Gareth Bale who is quite possibly in the form of his life at the moment with him scoring 5 goals in his last 5 away games and 10 goals in his last 12 games. PaddyPower have him 7/5 to score anytime which given these stats seems a massive price.

It’s a good job Bale is in such good form with Defoe being out injured and Adebayor having only recently returned from the African Nations, Spurs are desperately short up front. Despite this AVB has done a very good job since taking over from Harry Redknapp and he has led Spurs to 4th place in the league. He is on the longest unbeaten run of his Premier League career which stands at 10 games now (W6 D4) in which his side have avoided conceding more than 1 goal in all these games. Their last 6 away reads W3 D2 L1 and if Bale is on form then expect another away win.

One interesting stat I found was that West Ham have committed more fouls than any other side in the division (310) and Bwin are offering 18/19 that West Ham pick up the most bookings.

In conclusion, I can’t see anything else other than a Tottenham win given the form and stats of both teams and when Spurs win Mr Bale will most probably score.
