Willem II gave Ajax a few problems in Tilburg recently, and they are in decent goalscoring form recently. They’ve scored 11 goals in 5 home matches, and PSV have been far from exemplary at the back during recent away days. Willem II won 5-0 here last season, pulling off a major shock, but that’s unlikely to be repeated here. PSV should come through this test as there is so much on the line, but I expect Willem II to find a way through at some point.

There are many PSV players who will fancy their chances of finding the back of the net here, and Luuk de Jong is a very short price to add to his goal tally in this one. Hirving Lozano is a realistic option for anyone who fancies an away goalscorer, but we’re going to take a chance on the in-form Alexander Isak. He netted against Ajax here, and is likely to be on penalty duty once more.

Isak is on loan from Borussia Dortmund, and he’s made quite the impact in Tilburg. He’s scored 12 times this season, which is very impressive considering that he didn’t make his debut until late January.

He failed to find the net on Sunday, but he’s netted in each of his previous four outings. He’s netted seven goals in those four games, and has scored against both Ajax and Feyenoord already this year.

It’s been a terrific 2019 for Alexander Isak, and he’s certainly given Willem II an added cutting edge. He could find the net again here.

Willem II vs PSV Preview

This could be a hugely entertaining contest, and fans can expect plenty of goals at the Koning Willem II Stadion. There were seven goals when the pair met in Eindhoven earlier this season, and there’s been a total of 21 goals in the last four meetings between these sides.

PSV’s defence has come under pressure in recent away ties, and they shipped three to Ajax, two to Heerenveen and three to Vitesse. They didn’t look comfortable against Slutsky’s side, but they do have terrific prowess going forward.

Willem II have kept just three clean sheets all season, and they could struggle to keep the likes of Luuk de Jong and Hirving Lozano off the score-sheet here. PSV have kept just three clean sheets on the road since the end of September, and predictably, BTTS is short here.

Instead, opting for Over 3.5 Goals might be the way forward. It would have landed in each of the last four meetings between the sides, and in six of the last eight PSV away games.

PSV can’t afford to drop any more points here, and they certainly can’t afford any more slip-ups on their travels. They will come out all guns blazing, and it should make for an entertaining spectacle.

Likewise, Willem II will be desperate to bounce back from their disappointing away draw at Excelsior on Sunday. They led for large swathes of that game before succumbing to a late equaliser, and they will want to erase that disappointment from their minds as soon as possible.

BTTS hasn’t landed often in games between these two sides, but both teams have been scoring and conceding in their recent Eredivisie encounters.

Willem II have plenty of firepower, and they rarely draw a blank at home. PSV always find a way through, but they haven’t been as tough to breakdown in recent weeks.

The hosts aren’t afraid of attacking the higher-ranked sides in the Eredivisie, and they certainly won’t be parking the bus. That isn’t their style, and it rarely works against the likes the PSV anyway.

The Eindhoven club showed their vulnerability against Vitesse recently, and although they should have enough to come through this tie, a clean sheet is unlikely.
