Dean Saunders comes into Molineux with a massive job to do to turn around the fortunes of the West Midlands giants after the departure of Stale Solbakken.
A run of 5 defeats in their last 6 games saw Solbakken get the chop as Wolves dropped to a lowly 18th place in the Championship which is clearly unacceptable for a team of the stature of Wolves. However the bookies have made Wolves favourites after the arrival of saunders..
Wolves – 6/4 Coral
Draw – 5/2 BetVictor
Blackburn – 2/1 BetVictor
Wolves’ home record is pretty dire with just 1 win in their last 6 home games (W1 D1 L4), so Mr Saunders certainly has his work cut out in his first game in charge. Goals have been a struggle of late as they have fired blanks in their last two home games, but with Ebanks-Blake the only player who is scoring for Wolves recently, Saunders will hope he carries on his form.
Blackburn are still manager less but are showing signs of turning things around under caretaker boss Gary Bowyer with 3 wins on the bounce. Their last 6 away games have seen them W2 D2 L2, but its their last 2 home wins that have been confidence boosting 3-0 & 2-0 wins against Forest & Bristol City respectively. They are now scoring goals from different players and not just relying on the ever impressive Jordon Rhodes.
Blackburn have not lost in their last 3 visits to Molineux winning 2 and drawing 1 and despite the ‘new manager effect’ that Wolves will have I still think that Blackburn should nick this one, or at the very least get a draw.
