Just when you think things are finally running smoothly along the path of least resistance at Leeds, along comes more trouble. Steve Thompson, assistant manager was suspended this week without an explanation and told his contract won’t be renewed come the end of the season. This prompted Neil Redfearn to consider his position and that really is a worry for Leeds fans. Redfearn has steadied the ship, he is a fan of the club, knows the players as he nurtured many of them at youth level and the future looked bright at Elland Road. We’ll wait and see what strife this latest drama concocts, but it can’t be ideal preparation for the game against Blackburn and Wolves.

 

Kenny Jackett’s men were superb against Nottingham Forest, they soaked up a bit of pressure and hit them on the break. Benik Afobe took his goal brilliantly with terrific aplomb and the pace of Bakary Sako frightened the Forest defence. They have plenty of pace and creativity and James Henry looked to be pulling some strings in midfield. The club can still get a play-off place, they are battling against Ipswich and Derby for 6th spot and a home match against mid-table opposition is ideal for them. They should have too much for their opposition, although both teams are in good form going into this, with the home team having more to play for, I would back them for the win.

In 39 games (pre-Blackburn) Leeds have only scored 43 goals and conceded 47, their games are low scoring and this one could go the same way.
