Next Everton Manager Odds – Is Marco Silva on the Brink?

After suffering another defeat to Sheffield United, Everton manager Marco Silva moved into a strong favourite to be the next Premier League manager to leave his club – but what are the odds for the next Everton manager?

In the middle of last season, Everton fans were becoming impatient with Marco Silva but a good run of home fixtures towards the end of the 2018/19 season ensured they finished the season strongly, and Silva kept his job. However, with back to back defeats and some really poor performances already in this campaign, the net could once again be closing in on the former Hull and Watford manager.

Everton’s Next Manager Odds

Next Everton manager odds

Former Manchester United and Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is the current favourite to be the next Everton manager, with Eddie Howe of Bournemouth also a 4/1 chance in the latest betting odds.

Norwich boss Daniel Farke is next in the betting at 8/1 and Burnley boss Sean Dyche is 10/1. Sheffield United’s maverick manager Chris Wilder is 12/1 to be the next Everton manager whilst former player and number 2 to Pep Guardiola is also a 12/1 chance.

Of the other contenders, Ajax manager Erik ten Hag would be a coup at 16/1 and former boss David Moyes is 18/1. Former captain and England Women’s manager Phil Neville is 40/1.

All these odds are at SportNation, who were the first bookies to offer odds on the next Everton manager.

Next Everton Manager – the main contenders:

The following managers are in or around the latest betting odds for the next Everton manager, even though Marco Silva has not lost his job, bookmakers SportNation have opened up a market for the next Everton manager.

Jose Mourinho – 4/1

Former Chelsea, Real Madrid, Manchester United and Inter Milan boss Mourinho would be a real statement of intent from the Everton board. Widely regarded as one of the best managers of his generation, he has vast experience but has never managed a team who are not expected to challenge for the title.

Eddie Howe – 4/1

The long serving Bournemouth manager has been on the shortlist for a few Premier League jobs in recent seasons, and there is every chance he was in the running for the Everton managerial position once or twice too. If Howe wanted a new challenge, Everton looks to be the perfect fit for the young Englishman.

Daniel Farke – 8/1

After guiding Norwich to promotion from the Championship last season, Farke’s passing style has got a lot of plaudits in the opening weeks of the new Premier League season. The style is similar to that of Marco Silva but Norwich have an out and out goalscorer in their ranks in Teemu Pukki, where as Everton do not. This looks like more of a step sideways for the Toffees.

Sean Dyche – 10/1

Another long-serving Premier League manager who has previously been linked with the Everton job, Sean Dyche has turned Burnley into a strong Premier League side but they look to have stagnated in midtable now. The ambition of Everton will appeal to Dyche, as will the location.

Mikel Arteta – 12/1

The former Everton player was linked strongly with the Arsenal job before Unai Emery’s appointment, and this might be another role that appeals to the Spaniard. He is currently assisting Pep Guardiola at Manchester City but this could be the perfect role if he is ready to step into management in his own right.

Erik ten Hag – 16/1

The Ajax manager set the Champions League alight last season with his crop of youngsters just missing out on a place in the final following that dramatic second leg with Tottenham. The Dutchman was blessed with some tremendous talent at his disposal then, and he would be at Everton too. It is unlikely he would leave his native land for this opportunity, but is would be an exciting project for him.

Is Marco Silva getting sacked as Everton manager?

As of yet, nothing has been said by the Everton board about the future of their current manager Marco Silva. He was appointed as Everton manager 16 months ago following the departure of Sam Allardyce after just six months in charge.

Silva has a 40% win rate at Goodison Park but their poor away performances and some disappointing home results has left the Toffee’s fans restless, even at this early point in the season.

Defeats to Aston Villa, Bournemouth and Sheffield United already this season have left Everton on seven points from what they should have seen as six very winnable fixtures.

With much tougher fixtures coming up in the next few weeks including against Manchester City this weekend, the pressure on the Everton boss in mounting.

Who is favourite to be the next Everton manager?

At this time, Eddie Howe and Jse Mourinho are joint favourites in the next Everton manager betting odds. Both have a vast experience of the Premier League and Jose Mourinho has won the Premier League title three times with Chelsea. He has been out of work since leaving Manchester United last season and is currently a pundit on Sky Sports.

Eddie Howe has taken Bournemouth from League Two all the way to mid-table security in the Premier League and his side recently beat Everton 3-1. This result followed a 2-0 way loss to Aston Villa for Everton and the pressure starting to intensity on Marco Silva.

It is hard to see Jose Mourinho taking the Everton job and he would demand massive wagers from Everton’s owner Farhad Moshiri, but Eddie Howe might be a likely candidate and he head could be turned by the Everton job having being linked with Goodison Park previously.

Who will be the next Everton manager?

Of the candidates in the latest betting odds for the next Everton manager, the name that stands out for me is Mikel Arteta. The former Everton player is admired at Goodison Park and he will be one of the names the fans want to see replace Marco Silva if he gets the sack.

The Spaniard is currently Assistant Manager to Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, so he is already in the North West and this could be the perfect chance for him to take a managerial role by himself. It remains to be seen if it would be something Arteta is interested in but with his affiliation with Everton already, it looks a very good fit and an interesting bet at odds of 12/1 with SportNation.

What odds is Marco Silva to be the next Premier League manager sacked?

At the start of the season, I put together a next Premier League manager to be sacked article and picked out Marco Silva as a betting tip at odds of 16/1, Unfortunately, Javi Gracia was the first man out of a job but now Silva is as short as 6/4 with Ladbrokes. His odds are shortening all the time and with a tricky looking Carabao Cup match against Sheffield Wednesday, followed by a Premier League home game against Manchester City, who knows what price Silva will be to leave his post after this weekend.
