Aston Villa vs Everton Match Betting Preview

Aston Villa started their Premier League campaign brightly against Tottenham. They took the lead through John McGinn’s direct run and held their own for much of the opening game. Two late Harry Kane strikes meant Villa left North London with nothing to show for their efforts. Their home game against Bournemouth started poorly after Josh King converted an early penalty. Bournemouth increased their lead and threatened to end the match as a contest within the first half. Villa showed fight in the second half, pulling a goal back, but again taking no points from the tie.

Everton haven’t set the Premier League alight in their opening fixtures. A resolute but uninspiring performance against a stubborn Crystal Palace resulted in a point. The Toffees had opportunities to win the game but were far from clinical. A narrow 1-0 victory over Watford was enough to take all three points at Goodison but the attack is still yet to click this season. Everton still have plenty of new recruits to bed in, with the likes of Alex Iwobi, Fabian Delph and Moise Kean yet to start for their new club.

Reasons for the Aston Villa vs Everton Betting Tips Today

Everton’s defence has been resolute under Marco Silva in recent months. The Toffees have yet to concede a goal this term and ended last season with eight clean sheets in their final eleven games. Expect them to keep it tight once again on their travels. Villa have scored in both their defeats and look capable of notching once again, but their chances will be limited. As such, Everton to win to nil at 3/1 looks to be well priced.

With Everton keeping things tight at the back and their attack yet to click, you’d be forgiven for thinking this could be a relatively low scoring affair. The likes of Richarlison, Sigurdsson and Kean have all had chances to score but have been wasteful in the opening games. However, Aston Villa have left themselves exposed on several occasions thus far, which could give the Everton attackers the space to capitalise. With Villa having looked promising in attack, we’re backing Over 2.5 goals at 4/6.
