Brighton vs Southampton Match Preview

New Brighton manager Graham Potter will be delighted with the start his side have made to the new Premier League season – their 3-0 win at Watford on the opening day of the season was particularly impressive. Neal Maupay got the first goal of his Brighton career that day and he’ll be looking to score again at the AMEX Stadium this weekend. Their draw with West Ham last weekend came after going 1-0 down.

Southampton haven’t had a god start to the season and were soundly beaten by Burnley on the opening weekend. They faced a tough task when playing Liverpool last weekend and were perhaps a bit unfortunate not to get a point from the game after Danny Ings missed a guilt-edged chance at the end of the game. Even though it is still early in the season, Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhüttl might be slightly concerned, but a positive result here would change that.

Brighton vs Southampton Betting Tips

We’re siding with the home side to win this match and continue their good start to the season. Southampton improved against Liverpool last weekend but they still fell short and the same could happen when they go to the AMEX this weekend. Brighton are having a great start to the season and although it’s only two matches in, now might be a good time to back the Seagulls.

The second betting tip is going to be an anytime goalscorer and we’re backing former Brentford striker Neal Maupay to get another goal for his new club. Brighton struggled for goals last season and spent big on the striker, and after his goal against Watford he will be keen to get his first goal on home soil.
