Burnley vs Wolves predictions and betting tips for the Saturday afternoon Premier League fixture this weekend. See our three betting tips below as Wolves look to consolidate seventh place and Burnley continue to look over their shoulder at the relegation places. Read our predictions and betting tips below.
These two sides are having very contrasting seasons – Wolves have had a dream first season back in the Premier League and are currently in seventh place, while Burnley are just two points above the relegation zone in 17th. All of Burnley’s home matches between now and the end of the season have to be looked at as must, starting with this tricky tie against Wolves.
Burnley made it to the Europa League last season but that has had a dreadful effect on their season and starting so early surely hasn’t helped. After the highs of the last campaign, Sean Dyche’s men are struggling to survive and have now lost four matches in a row after a good upturn in fortunes during the start of 2019. The last win they picked up was a vital three points against Tottenham but since then they’ve lost four in a row – but they have scored in the last three.
Wolves have been fantastic all season, especially at home, but even their away form has kept their points totals ticking over and have won 3-1 at both Tottenham and Everton since Christmas. The 1-0 loss to Huddersfield was a shock but for our both teams to score prediction, we’re confident they’ll get on the scoresheet at Turf Moor.
The best odds you will get for Burnley to win against Wolves are 9/4 with Betfair and even though they are struggling down the bottom of their table, they have got some good wins at home this season. They have lost 2-0 at home to Newcastle and 4-2 to Liverpool in their current bad run though so judging by the form, it is hard to see them winning here.
Ashley Barnes is their top scorer with nine goals so far and Chris Wood has chipped in with seven. It would be no surprise to see one of them get on the scoresheet here because we are predicting at least a goal for Burnley, even if they don’t manage to get the three points.
Aaron Lennon and Defour are injured so won’t be in the Burnley starting line-up for this one, but Barnes and Wood are expected to start up front and James Tarkowski will take his place in defence after being on duty with England during the international break.
We’re going to have a punt on Chris Wood getting on the scoresheet in this match and the odds for that are 5/2 with Betfair. He’s bagged four in his last eight Premier League games.
The best odds you will get for Wolves to beat Burnley this weekend are 6/4 with Bet Victor and although we wouldn’t necessarily put you off placing this bet, you have to take into account that Wolves have only won one of their last five Premier League fixtures away from home. They do have a habit of playing better against the better teams and so this might be a tough match for them against Burnley, who are certainly capable of big results at Turf Moor.
Nuno Santo has got this Wolves side playing some brilliant attacking football and Raul Jiminez is the man who puts the finishing touches to a lot of their moves. He’s got 12 goals this season and his strike partner Jota has six. Both players scored when Wolves knocked Manchester United out of the FA Cup before the international break.
It looks as though Wolves will have a clean bill of health for this match so the likes of Jota, Jiminez and Moutinho will take their places in the starting line-up, and the impressive Conor Cody will be in the backline, along with Boly, who chips in with the odd goal.
