Everton vs Newcastle Betting Tips

Jordan Pickford made the headlines this weekend when he giftwrapped three points for Liverpool in the dying embers of the Merseyside derby and he will be determined to bounce back here. The Toffees were in the game until that point and they’d competed well. They have been in decent form and have been particularly difficult to beat on their own patch. They’ll be pleased to get back to home comforts. They’ve beaten Cardiff, Fulham, Crystal Palace and Brighton here and conceded just one goal during that period. Only West Ham have beaten them at Goodison Park so far this season and it’s hard to see Newcastle adding their name to that exclusive list. The Magpies were expected to continue their fine run of form on Saturday but slipped up against the Hammers and will be determined to bounce back quickly. Only Manchester City and Manchester United have beaten Newcastle on the road this season and they’ll look to make things tough but they have a wretched record against the Merseysiders. Marco Silva’s side have won eight of their last nine meetings with the Tyneside outfit and they’ve managed to keep a clean sheet in each of the last five meetings. It’s hard to see this going any other way. Everton’s pressing game can work well here and I think they can collect three points although the price is short enough. If Newcastle conceded early in this game, their heads could potentially drop and Everton to Win and Over 1.5 Goals looks a decent bet at 19/20 with Ladbrokes. It is the first of our Everton vs Newcastle predictions for Wednesday night.

As previously mentioned, Newcastle have not fared well against Everton in the last few years. They don’t tend to find the net against the Toffees and Pickford’s error aside, Everton have been solid and reliable at the back in recent weeks. They’ve conceded just five times in eight games and they’ve faced Manchester United and Chelsea in that run. Newcastle failed to find the net at the weekend which was hugely disappointing and Rafa’s side will need to conjure up something special in order to breach this Everton rearguard. Both Teams to Score? No is the second of our Everton vs Newcastle betting tips and looks a decent option at 20/23 with Bet Victor.

Everton vs Newcastle Anytime Goalscorer Betting Tip

Marco Silva may choose to freshen things up for this tie but Gylfi Sigurdsson is one player who is unlikely to be sacrificed. The Icelandic international took a while to settle into life at Everton and found it difficult working under Sam Allardyce but he is clearly enjoying working under the meticulous Portuguese coach. He’s netted seven times this season and is likely to step up for any set-piece in this match. He netted in front of the jubilant Goodison crowd during Everton’s last home match and five of his seven strikes have come here. He is likely to be a thorn in Newcastle’s side all evening. Gylfi Sigurdsson to Score Anytime is priced at 21/10 with Bet365 and is the third of our Everton vs Newcastle predictions.

Everton vs Newcastle Preview, Team News and Stats

As the stats suggest, this isn’t likely to be an end-to-end, absorbing contest but a couple of goals are likely. Our first betting tip of Everton to Win and Over 1.5 Goals fits the bill at 19/20 and looks a decent shout based on previous meetings between these teams. Over 2.5 Goals is priced at 10/11 and would have landed in three of Newcastle’s last five away games. Under 2.5 Goals, which would have paid out in three of Everton’s last five home matches is also priced at 10/11.

There is a relatively high corner count between these two sides with an average of 10.26. Bet Victor are offering 7/10 on Over 9.5 corners in this tie.

Everton Preview, Stats and News

Everton’s form has been mixed although they’ve recently faced Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United. They have won six of their 14 games so far this season and the majority of those victories have been against mid-table sides. They’ve only been beaten four times. The Toffees can be backed at 6/10 with Betfair and will be in many punter’s accumulators.  Marco Silva has no fresh injury worries ahead of this clash although he may wish to inject some energy into the side and start Ademola Lookman against Newcastle.

Newcastle Preview, Stats and News

Newcastle’s recent form has been pretty decent although they’ve faced out-of-form Burnley and hosted Watford and Bournemouth at St.James’ Park. They couldn’t score against Southampton during their last away trip and that is a concern. They’ve lost eight times this season and drawn on just three occasions. However, two of those three draws have come fairly recently on the road and it’s 3/1 to end all-square here. They will miss Matt Ritchie for this tie, who is suspended whilst Paul Dummett and Florian Lejeune remain injured for this one.
