Fantasy Football Tips and Advice for Gameweek 6

Fantasy Football tips

Norwich’s shock win over Manchester City was the headlines of gameweek 5, disappointing many Sterling and de Bruyne captainers. With bottom of the table Watford up next, is it worth keeping faith with City?

Below you will see Fantasy Football tips for this week including picks from each position and which players are best to avoid with difficult matches coming up.

Fantasy Football Goalkeepers and Defenders Tips

Lucas Digne (6.2m) is highly owned, picked by almost 30% of FPL managers. The Everton defence have disappointed in recent weeks, conceding seven in the last three. However, having picked up two assists and with a home fixture against Sheffield United up next, this is not the time to get rid. The Blades have averaged just one goal a game and failed to score against Southampton last time out. If you have Digne, keep him.

Next up is 2018/19 FPL cult hero, Matt Doherty (6.0m). Having recovered from his injury setback, the Irish international could reprise his role for a trip to goal-shy Crystal Palace. The Eagles have failed to score in three of their five matches and come off the back of a 4-0 hammering. Four goals and seven assists last season underlines Doherty’s potential as a differential pick.

Liverpool travel to Stamford Bridge this weekend. Chelsea have scored 10 in their last three games and look capable of scoring against any team. What’s more, The Reds have been leaky in defence and have recorded just one clean sheet. Virgil van Dijk (6.5m) is singled out as a poor pick this week, given his hefty price tag and reduced attacking threat in comparison to Liverpool’s fullbacks.

De Bruyne FPL

Kevin de Bruyne (9.8m) was a shock exclusion from the starting XI last weekend. The Belgian international picked up just 1 point in his 33 minutes of game time. Guardiola’s men now host bottom of the table Watford with KDB virtually guaranteed to start. He will no doubt be back to his point-scoring best.

Arsenal also suffered embarrassment last weekend, giving up a 2-0 lead and almost losing the match altogether at hands of Watford. Their defensive mishaps were a combination of individual errors and tactical naivety. The Gunners host Aston Villa next and if their non-existent pressing continues, John McGinn (5.6m) looks a good bet to add to his goal and assist.

After a summer of rumours, offers and transfer requests, Wilfried Zaha (6.8m) has started the season uncharacteristically quietly. The Ivorian is yet to score or assist for Palace this season and the visit of Wolves is unlikely to help matters. Palace have had a dismal record at Selhurst Park and this is certainly not the time to invest in the out of sorts talisman.

Fantasy Football Forwards Tips

Three goals and an assist in five games is a reasonable return for Marcus Rashford (8.5m) this season. He has started every game and faces West Ham next. The Hammers have kept back-to-back clean sheets but have shown they can be defensively vulnerable in their 5-0 home defeat to Manchester City. United are some way off their Manchester rivals but if they are to score against West Ham, Rashford’s current 50% goal involvement bodes well for his owners.

Roberto Firmino (9.5m) comes into consideration for Liverpool’s encounter with Chelsea. The Brazilian forward has been arguably Liverpool’s best player this season and has produced attacking returns in all but one game. Chelsea are yet to keep a clean sheet and will struggle once more.

Gerard Deulofeu (6.2m) picked up his first attacking points of the season against Arsenal. He was heavily involved in the second half and looked dangerous. However, with a trip to The Etihad this week, now is not the time to invest.
