As well as these five tips, keep up to date with our week by week selections on the Premier League predictions 2019/20 section of thatsagoal.

Sterling PFA Player of the Year – 7/1

Raheem Sterling was nominated in last season’s PFA Player of the Year shortlist and came mightily close to winning the award. The England international was directly involved in 29 and 27 goals in the last two seasons respectively. At 24, Sterling still has room to improve and reaching anywhere near the heights of those seasons should place him in contention once more. Man City will be a force to be reckoned with once again, so expect the Jamaican-born wide man to make the shortlist at the very least.

Hudson-Odoi PFA Young Player of the Year – 20/1

Callum Hudson-Odoi does not have a lot of Premier League experience but what he does have is heaps of potential. Chelsea fans are rightly excited at the prospect of CHO getting regular minutes this season. With Eden Hazard gone and Willian and Pedro, 31 and 32 respectively by the time the season starts, Hudson-Odoi has a good shot at cementing a starting role. The English winger has shown flashes of brilliance in the Europa League and looks a good shout for YPOTY at 20/1.

Hodgson Next Manager to Leave – 6/1

Roy Hodgson: The right man for the job at Crystal Palace?

It’s understandable to find Roy Hodgson top of the list of managers most likely to lose their job. Crystal Palace have been incredibly reliant on Wilfried Zaha in recent seasons but the Ivory Coast international is clearly unsettled. Failed bids from Arsenal and Everton have reportedly left Zaha wanting a fresh challenge. Add to that the departure of Crystal Palace Young Player of the Year, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and it is clear to see Hodgson faces a tough task on his hands. Furthermore, January loanee, Michy Batshuayi, remains at Chelsea, leaving Palace short up front and the former England manager with a serious uphill task.

Tottenham Top London Club – 1/1

Spurs were pipped to third spot by Chelsea last season, leaving them as the second-highest London club. The summer window has brought a long-awaited signing, in the form of Tanguy Ndombélé, for a record fee. Tottenham have been linked with further signings as the window draws to a close, but their squad is now arguably the strongest of the London clubs. Chelsea’s transfer ban and change of management means this will be a period of adjustment for the West Londoners and the loss of Eden Hazard will no doubt be felt. Arsenal have also conducted good business but remain short in a few key areas. West Ham and Crystal Palace will not trouble Spurs and a 3rd place finish is likely.

Sterling Top Man City Scorer – 3/1

“Manchester City top scorer” and “Sergio Aguero” are almost inextricably linked. The Argentine has been the Citizens top scorer for each of the last five seasons and has been the undisputed first choice striker for that time. However, the goal gap has closed in recent years with the emergence of Sterling as a lethal close-range finisher. In the past four campaigns, the difference in goals between the two has played out as follows: 18, 15, 3, 4. Aguero’s well-known injury problems could give Sterling an advantage, with the Englishman having made more appearances in every season he’s been in Manchester. Sterling will have a chance at a head start when he likely takes Aguero’s place for their opening fixture against West Ham having already scored in the Community Shield.
