Manchester United vs Arsenal Predicted Line-ups – Greenwood and Saka to start?

Solskjaer Man United

There will be selection issues for both Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Unai Emery ahead of tonight’s Manchester United v Arsenal clash, but how will the teams line-up to start at Old Trafford?

Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial are both out for United, so 17 year old Mason Greenwood could get a start following goals against Astana in the Europa League, and Rochdale in the Carabao Cup in the last two weeks. Paul Pogba is unlikely to feature from the start to Scott McTominay and Jesse Lingard are probable starters in midfield.

Ashley Young is likely to keep his place at left-back with Luke Shaw still injured, and Nemanja Matic could come back in the team to sure up the midfield alongside Scott McTominay. That would leave room for Juan Mata in the starting 11 ahead of Pereira and Jesse Lingard will play somewhere along the front four.

That leaves 17 year-old Mason Greenwood to start his first Premier League match of the season against one of Manchester United’s oldest rivals.

Arsenal Predicted Starting Line-up vs Manchester United

Arsenal starting line-up prediction

The Arsenal starting line-up is harder to predict, with no indication of how Unai Emery will approach this match. If he looks to sit back and soak up pressure then we could see a defence minded midfield three of Xhaka, Guendouzi and Torreira, with the pace of Saka, Pepe and Aubameyang tasked with getting in behind the United backline.

There is also the possibility that Willock or Ceballos could be in the Arsenal starting line-up tonight, and Sokratis could play centre back with Callum Chambers moving to right back if new signing Tierney isn’t fit enough to start the match. Arsenal could also go with three at the back.
