Manchester United vs Sheffield United Betting Tips & Prediction: Can the Blades Pull Off an Unlikely Win?
Sheffield United have taken just one point from their two games since project restart.
Manchester United picked up a point with a late penalty at Tottenham last week.
Manchester United vs Sheffield United Betting Tips
Manchester United’s attack should be able to find a way past a normally watertight Sheffield United in light of injuries and suspensions.
Best Bet: Both Teams to Score – No – 4/6 at Bwin.
Correct Score Tip: Manchester United to Win 2-0 – 11/2 at Bwin.
Manchester United vs Sheffield United Prediction
Manchester United sit in fifth place, five points behind Chelsea in fourth. Sheffield United are still in the hunt for a European spot, a further two points behind the Red Devils in seventh.
Given how this season has panned out for Sheffield United, it would be foolish to discount them. However, two of the regular back three and the invaluable Dean Henderson are set to miss out.
Manchester United should have some joy against a makeshift defence, as they did in the reverse fixture and that’s why I’m predicting a win for Manchester United in this match. If you are looking for a correct score bet, 2-0 to the hosts looks a good bet.
Manchester United Form & Team News
Manchester United have equaled their longest unbeaten run of the season by going six without defeat. Their first game after the restart saw them take a share of the spoils against Tottenham, having gone behind early.
The Red Devils have kept four clean sheets in their last six games, conceding just twice in that period. Only three sides have now conceded fewer than United’s 31 in 30 league games.
Manchester United’s record against the current top eight is rather impressive this campaign. They have suffered just one defeat in 12 matches, with six wins and five clean sheets.
Team News
Axel Tuanzebe and Phil Jones are the only injuries of note at the time of writing.
Sheffield United Form & Team News
Sheffield United’s project restart hasn’t exactly gone to plan so far. A desperately unfortunate 0-0 draw with Aston Villa wasn’t quite the start they had hoped for, whilst a 3-0 loss to Newcastle after the sending off of John Egan was their worst defeat of the season.
The defeat to Newcastle was just the third time the Blades had lost to a side outside the top three this season. Chris Wilder’s side are yet to register a goal since the restart, continuing a less than impressive goals for tally.
Their season has been built on a strong back-line but that came apart last time out, in no small part thanks to a red card to John Egan.
Team News
Goalkeeper, Dean Henderson is ineligible, John Egan is suspended, and Jack O’Connell remains a doubt.
