Thatsagoal’s Premier League Betting Tips for Saturday 19th October

Premier League betting tips

The Premier League fixtures return this weekend and even though the big game between Manchester United and Liverpool takes place on Sunday, there are eight fixtures on Saturday 19th October to get some predictions from too.

Everton host West Ham in the 12.30pm kick-off before six matches at 3pm including Chelsea vs Newcastle and Tottenham vs Watford. The 5.30pm kick-off sees Crystal Palace host Manchester City. City are already getting cut adrift from Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table and they can afford no slip-ups against a side who have caused them some problems in the past. Last season Andros Townsend scored the goal of the season at the Etihad when palace ran out 3-2 winners, and the season before that only a missed penalty in injury time prevented another Palace win.

Premier League Betting Tips 19/10/19

Our tipster has put together the best betting tips for the Premier League this weekend with reasons for each selection. The mini-match previews will outline the reasons and at the end of the article you will find the odds for the accumulator as well.

Aston Villa vs Brighton Prediction

These sides have already met in the Carabao Cup this season and Aston Villa ran out 3-1 winners at the AMEX Stadium. The starting line-ups will look a lot different this time around though but I’m predicting a similar result. Both these teams picked up fantastic wins last time out – Villa beat Norwich 5-1 away from home and Brighton beat Tottenham 3-0. Nobody could have predicted those results.

Before that 3-0 win over Spurs, Brighton were not on a good run having failed to win in the Premier League since the opening day of the season. In that time they have played three matches on the road and lost them all without scoring a goal. Aston Villa were on a slightly better run but they have been struggling in some home matches. They’ve taken five points from their matches so far this season at Villa Park and this looks the ideal opportunity to get their second win of the campaign at home. The first Premier League tip for Saturday is an Aston Villa victory over Brighton and the odds for this are 7/5 with Unibet.

Bournemouth vs Norwich Prediction

Bournemouth have been a great side to keep onside if you like to bet on goals in matches this season. In their last six Premier League matches they have been involved in two 3-1 wins, two 3-1 defeats and a 2-2 draw. This match looks set to be full of goals as well given that Norwich play attacking football that leaves them wide open at the other end. This was on show in their 5-1 defeat at home to Aston Villa last-time out. A result that not many people saw coming.

The Canaries have already beaten champions Manchester City this season but their away form is terrible. They’ve lost 5-1 against Anfield and 2-0 against West Ham, Burnley and Crystal Palace already in this campaign. I’m predicting another loss for them at Bournemouth this weekend and the best way to play this from a betting viewpoint is to back a Bournemouth win with over 2.5 goals in the match. The odds for this are 13/10 with Paddy Power. If you want to play it safe then a Bournemouth win is 3/4.

Leicester vs Burnley Prediction

Leicester City have been one of the best teams in the Premier League this season and they were unfortunate not to get a point at Anfield before the international break. A dubious penalty was awarded to Liverpool in the last minute (imagine our surprise) to give them the three points. Prior to that Leicester were ruthless against 10-man Newcastle and they’ve already beaten an out of sorts Tottenham and drawn at Chelsea. This fixture should be much easier as the betting suggests, with Leicester’s odds 4/9 to win against Burnley.

Jamie Vardy has already got five goals in the Premier League this season and back on home soil, he’ll likely be amongst the goals again this weekend. Burnley have been going well in the league and beat Everton 1-0 last time out, however, their away form is not as good and they’re yet to keep a clean sheet on the road. Vardy will be keen to put the off-field drama behind him and get on the scoresheet in this one. The best odds for Vardy to score against Burnley are 17/20 and that’s from Unibet this weekend.

Wolves vs Southampton Prediction

It was a very slow start to the season for Wolves but Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have now got back to winning ways and are climbing the Premier League table. They followed up their dramatic win in Besiktas with a surprise 2-0 win over Manchester City before the international break, and they should get another three points in this one. When considering the best Premier League betting tips for Saturday, it might be that Wolves to win is the best bet of the lot. Southampton were thrashed 4-1 at home to Chelsea last time out and lost 2-1 at Spurs in their last away game. They have picked up some decent results on the road though, including a 2-0 win at Brighton and 1-0 win at Sheffield United, however, Wolves should get the better of them here. With no Europa League hangover meaning a Sunday fixture, I’m betting on Wolves to beat Southampton for the next betting tip this weekend. The odds for this are 4/5 with Unibet.

Chelsea vs Newcastle Prediction

Chelsea beat Southampton in convincing fashion before the international break, with Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount continuing to impress. After getting called up for the national team they will want to keep their form going against a troubled Newcastle side who seem to blow hot and cold on the pitch. Last time out they picked up a fantastic 1-0 win at home to Manchester United, but before that lost 5-0 away to Leicester. Despite having 10 men that was a poor performance and one they cannot afford to repeat at Stamford Bridge this weekend.

It would be a brave punter to bet against Chelsea this weekend and I’m predicting an easy win for Frank Lampard’s side. The odds for Chelsea to win (-1 handicap) are 4/5 and this looks a good betting tip. Although Chelsea have had a few troubles at home this season, their attacking players are impressing and Callum Hudson-Odi is back from injury and should feature.
