Premier League Betting Tips Last Day of the Season: The Relegation Battle

Premier League betting tips

Aston Villa are above the relegation zone by the narrowest of margins heading into the final round of fixtures. Watford are behind by a single goal on goal difference, whilst Bournemouth trail by three points. Any one of these three sides could survive the drop yet.

Aston Villa will stay up if they can match better Watford and Bournemouth’s results. Watford need to match or better Aston Villa’s result and overturn a one-goal deficit. Meanwhile, Bournemouth require losses for both Aston Villa and Watford, as well as an away win over Everton. Read today’s Premier League predictions and betting tips below.

West Ham vs Aston Villa Prediction

West Ham predictions

Both Teams to Score – 4/7 at bet365.

West Ham’s upturn in form has come at the perfect time for David Moyes. The Hammers have only lost one of their last six games, claiming points against Chelsea and Manchester United as well as a crucial win over Watford.

Aston Villa have also experienced a timely change in fortunes. Seven points from their last three Premier League games has put them in the driving seat heading into this final round of fixtures. Dean Smith will know that a win will likely be enough to see Aston Villa survive.

Having virtually secured safety, West Ham did not ease up against Manchester United and made sure to confirm their Premier League status. They will not give Aston Villa an easy ride and could cause plenty of problems.

Recently, Villa have tightened up defensively, conceding just one goal in their last three. They have survived more than one scare in that period and could well concede here. However, with survival in their hands, Villa can surely grab at least a point to give themselves a solid chance.

Arsenal vs Watford Prediction

Arsenal predictions

Both Teams to Score – 4/7 at bet365.

Over 2.5 Goals – 8/13 at bet365.

Arsenal handed Aston Villa a lifeline by losing 1-0 earlier in the week. Watford have felt the repercussions of that defeat, dropping into the relegation zone and will be hoping to inflict further ignominy on the Gunners to help get themselves out of trouble.

The Gunners had previously beaten Liverpool and Manchester City in the space of a week before suffering defeat to Villa. Despite the loss, Arsenal have clearly improved under Mikel Arteta and will be a difficult opponent for the Hornets.

The Watford board relieved Nigel Pearson of his duties ahead of their 4-0 loss to Manchester City. The Hornets have now sacked three managers this season and face an uphill task to remain in the top flight.

Each Watford’s last six games have featured over 2.5 goals, including wins over Norwich and Newcastle. The Hornets have managed just one clean sheet since mid-February and look likely to conceded despite their desperation for points.

Everton vs Bournemouth Prediction

Everton betting tips

Draw – 13/5 at bet365.

Under 2.5 Goals – 4/7 at bet365.

Bournemouth are most at risk of relegation heading into their trip to Everton. Their opponents have had mixed fortunes since the restart, picking up positive results against Leicester and Sheffield United but also suffering disappointing results against Wolves and Aston Villa.

The Cherries need a win to have any chance of survival. Eddie Howe’s side managed to pick up four points against Leicester and Tottenham to give themselves hope for the final day but are very much at the mercy of their rivals.

The list of opponents Everton have lost to since Ancelotti took charge does not make for pleasant reading for Bournemouth fans. Since the Italian took charge, Everton have lost five league games to Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, and Wolves.

A win might be one step too far for a side likely going down regardless of the result. There shouldn’t be too many goals if Everton’s recent games are anything to go by either.
