The Premier League fixtures for the 2019/20 season have just been released and the opening weekend throws up some exciting fixtures. We are yet to find out which matches will be shown on TV but fans now know who their teams will be playing on the opening weekend.
The opening weekend of the season is Friday 9th August – Sunday 11th August.
Manchester United vs Chelsea will take place on Sunday 11th August at Old Trafford.
Championship winners Norwich City begin their campaign against Liverpool at Anfield on Friday night.
Runners-up Sheffield United, who pipped Leeds to second place in the Championship table, are playing against Bournemouth on the opening weekend at the Vitality Stadium.
Play-off winners Aston Villa are back in the Premier League and their first fixture back in the top flight is against Tottenham at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday 10th August.
Champions League winners and Premier League runners up will be playing in the Community Shield against Manchester City the weekend before the start of the Premier League season, but their first game of the new campaign is against at Anfield against newly promoted Norwich City.
Manchester City will start the defence of their title against West Ham at the London Stadium.
