The opening weekend of the season is Friday 9th August – Sunday 11th August.

 

What is the biggest fixture for the opening weekend of the season?

Manchester United vs Chelsea will take place on Sunday 11th August at Old Trafford.

 

Who are the newly promoted sides playing on the opening weekend of the season?

Championship winners Norwich City begin their campaign against Liverpool at Anfield on Friday night.

Runners-up Sheffield United, who pipped Leeds to second place in the Championship table, are playing against Bournemouth on the opening weekend at the Vitality Stadium.

Play-off winners Aston Villa are back in the Premier League and their first fixture back in the top flight is against Tottenham at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday 10th August.

 

Who are Liverpool playing in the first fixture of the 2019/20 season?

Champions League winners and Premier League runners up will be playing in the Community Shield against Manchester City the weekend before the start of the Premier League season, but their first game of the new campaign is against at Anfield against newly promoted Norwich City.
