Saturday’s Premier League Predictions: Calvert-Lewin and Werner to Score & a Shock at Newcastle Predicted
There are four Premier League fixtures on Saturday 17th October as we get back into domestic action following the international break.
For Saturday’s best bets, Fabio is banking on the Premier League top scorer to fire again and Chelsea’s Timo Werner to get a top flight goal. Elsewhere, goals are expected in the Manchester City vs Arsenal match and Newcastle can cause an upset and get a result at home to Manchester United.

Calvert-Lewin to continue his goalscoring form vs Liverpool
Everton’s frontman has been on fire this season. He’s already scored six Premier League goals and his first senior hat-trick. DCL also scored on his England debut and his confidence is through the roof. Everton are playing some wonderful attacking football and Liverpool’s defensive showing thus far has been less than impressive. If Everton are going to score, Calvert-Lewin is likely to be the man to do it.

Chelsea’s big-money signing to break his Premier League scoring duck
Chelsea summer signing is yet to score a Premier League goal but his displays so far have been encouraging. He’s often played out wide, looking to run in behind, a facet of his game that could really be of use against Southampton. The Saints have played a high line and have been exposed badly on occasion this season. If they set up in a similar fashion against Chelsea, do not be surprised to Werner score his first PL goal.
Timo Werner to Score Anytime – 11/10 with Ladbrokes.
Goals look a certainty at the Etihad Stadium
Manchester City haven’t got off to the most convincing of starts this season. Guardiola’s side are yet to keep a clean sheet having conceded to Wolves, Leicester, and Leeds. The Foxes, in particular, exposed Manchester City’s error-prone defence.
On the other hand, City rarely fail to score, even without an orthodox striker. Arsenal have managed just one shut out in four and are also likely to be breached.
Both Teams to Score – Yes – 7/10 with Ladbrokes.
Newcastle to pile the pressure on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
It’s been an inauspicious start to the Premier League season for Manchester United. A surprise defeat to Crystal Palace was followed by a less than convincing 3-2 win over Brighton and a 6-1 demolition at the hands of Spurs. Newcastle have been up and down but have a new-look attack that could cause Solskjaer’s side some issues. There’s value in the double chance.
Double Chance – Newcastle/Draw – 6/5 with Ladbrokes.
