Watford vs Everton Predictions and Betting Tips: Premier League Preview

Watford vs Everton predictions, betting tips and preview for the Premier League fixture on Saturday 9th February 2019. Marco Silva’s former club will be looking to pile the pressure on as Everton’s recent run of results has put his job in the spotlight.

Another defeat for Everton in midweek meant it is now four defeats in their last five matches, including an FA Cup exit to Championship side Millwall. Watford have only lost one of their last eight matches in all competitions and we’re predicting they will heap more pressure on Marco Silva here.

Watford vs Everton Match Prediction

Watford vs Everton Predictions

Watford were unfortunate to lose against Tottenham at Wembley after leading 1-0, but that 2-1 loss is their only defeat in eight matches. That run includes a 2-0 win over Newcastle in the FA Cup and three of their previous four Premier League home games unbeaten. Having said that, they have only managed draws in their two previous games against Newcastle and Burnley. With only one goal scored in those games, that could be a worry.

However, Everton are still struggling without a top class striker in their team and failed to convert the few chances they created against Manchester City in midweek. They won their last away game 1-0 at bottom club Huddersfield but defeats at Brighton, Southampton and Millwall indicate they’re not in great form at all. Watford to win is the first of our Watford v Everton predictions for this match.

Watford vs Everton Anytime Scorer Prediction

Everton have been truely awful at defending set pieces this season and they shipped another goal against Man City in midweek, this time from a free kick. Aymeric Laporte was left unmarked eight yards from goal and, with the Everton defenders once again marking space. They conceded three goals from set pieces against Millwall and two against Wolves (one was a penalty). Marking from dead balls is not something Marco Silva will change and that could cost him his job. For that reason, we’re taking a chance on one of the Watford defenders getting a goal here and going with Craig Cathcart. He has thre to his name already this season and scored recently against Tottenham. The second of this weekend’s Watford vs Everton predictions is for Cathcart to score anytime and the odds are 15.1/1 with MoPlay.

Watford vs Everton Score Prediction

The Goodison Park side need a win as soon as possible, especially with a really tough run of fixtures coming up. They play Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United in their next four at home and so they need to pick points up away from home. With Richarlison and Sigurdsson both dropped for the match against Man City, it remains to be seen if they’ll get their place back.

Watford are ticking over quite nicely though and are a point ahead of Everton in the table with a game in hand, we’re predicting they’ll extend that gap with a 2-1 victory at Vicarage Road this weekend.
