West Ham vs Everton Preview

A lack of consistency has been the thing that has held West Ham back most this season although they’re still very much in the mix to record a highest league finish since the 2015-16 campaign. Their last five matches have yielded three victories with defeats sandwiched in between, further substantiating the suggestion that they’ve not proven capable of putting a run together.

Fortunately for Hammers fans, their side are this weekend up against a team who have proven even more difficult to predict – in Marco Silva’s Everton. The Toffees are currently mid-table and just two points behind West Ham, meaning there’s very little on paper to separate the pair. With that said, I can see Manuel Pellegrini’s men starting this one as they finished in their most recent win over Huddersfield, which would be bad news for the Merseysiders. Everton are generally very poor on the road and I’m not really anticipating that will change here. Instead, I’ll have some of the 7/5 available on the home side taking all three points here.

West Ham vs Everton Betting Tips

It’s fair to say that Javier Hernandez hasn’t quite replicated the heights he achieved in a Manchester United shirt although that’s perhaps to be expected given the quality of player he had alongside him during that era. But that’s not to say that the Mexican hasn’t performed sufficiently since trading Old Trafford for the capital – via a stint at Bayer Leverkusen.

Chicharito bagged a brace in the dying embers of West Ham’s enthralling comeback against Huddersfield a fortnight ago, taking his Premier League goal tally to seven. A goal against Everton would see the 30-year-old equal the tally achieved last season and you’d expect him to beat that target given the number of games that remain. Had he not notched twice two weeks ago, the likelihood is that the odds of him scoring anytime would be considerably longer than the still-attractive 2/1 available now.

Some firms aren’t quote so generous though, with one or two pricing him up as barely an odds against shot. Take the value now before it disappears!
