2.10pm – Copperhead to Win (9/2)

2.50pm – Protektorat to win (9/1) & Cracking Smart each-way (20/1)

 3.30pm – Altior to Win (3/1)

4.10pm – Tiger Roll to Win (40/1 price boost)

4.50pm – Palladium to win (12/1) & Galahad Quest each-way (22/1)

5.30pm – Appreciate It to win (2/1).

Ballymore Novices’ Hurdle Tip – 1.30pm

Envoi Allen has been the long-time ante-post favourite for this 2m5f novices hurdle event, and he has won all four hurdle races for trainer Gordon Elliott but none by more than seven lengths. However, he will face a challenge from Sporting John in this contest.

Trained by Philip Hobbs, he is unbeaten in three starts over hurdles including an impressive win when quickening clear at Ascot last time. Irish raider The Big Getaway may also be prominent after a very easy win at Naas during January in his second start over hurdles for Willie Mullins.

Tip: Sporting John to Win (7/2)

RSA Novices’ Chase Tip – 2.10pm

After winning twice over fences at Newbury, Champ fell when leading in his latest outing at Cheltenham. He will have been schooled by the Nicky Henderson team since that mishap but the 8-year-old will face a strong Irish challenge with Minella Indo proving his stamina over three miles by winning at Navan last time.

A more serious challenger may be Copperhead from the Colin Tizzard stable. Following an impressive win at Newbury, he dominated a recent Grade 2 contest at Ascot and won by nearly twenty lengths. A galloping track will suit his racing style and he seems to possess abundant stamina.

Tip: Copperhead to Win (9/2)

Coral Cheltenham

Coral Cup Tip – 2.50pm

A notoriously difficult race from which to select the winner as this 2m5f handicap hurdle is always competitive. Protektorat will be seeking a first win over hurdles in seven attempts for trainer Dan Skelton but he has been placed in all four races this season including a third place behind Harry Senior in a Grade 2 contest at Cheltenham last time.

Another entrant is Birchdale who was a disappointing second favourite for the ‘Albert Bartlett’ at last year’s festival. He reverts to hurdles after a poor effort over fences last time and he is a previous Cheltenham winner over a similar distance. It may also worth considering Cracking Smart from Ireland who returned to form when winning the Boyne Hurdle at Navan, the race in which Tiger Roll was recently fifth.

Tip: Protektorat to win (9/1)

Each-way: Cracking Smart (20/1)

Betway Queen Mother Champion Chase Tip – 3.30pm

Losing for the first time over obstacles when beaten into second place by Cyrname at Ascot over 2m5f, a foot abscess then affected Altior before an encouraging victory over 2m at Newbury last time. However, he was declared lame on Monday and will not take part here.

Altior’s main rival in the market was Defi Du Seuil, who is unbeaten this term with two Grade 1 victories. However, was comfortably beaten by Irish raider Chacun Pour Soi over two miles at the Punchestown Festival last season. The Willie Mullins trained horse won at Leopardstown but was second behind by A Plus Tard over 2m1f on his seasonal debut.

Tip: Chacun Pour Soi (6/4)

Glenfarclas Cross Country Tip – 4.10pm

Tiger Roll won the National Hunt Chase at the 2017 Festival and then completed a Glenfarclas cross-country and Grand National double in the following two seasons. His efforts to complete a hat-trick have been hindered by injury and he was only fifth in hurdle race last month which he won last year. French raider Easysland could provide dangerous opposition this time after winning all six previous races including a cross-country event at Cheltenham, while Yanworth could be an interesting contender for Edna Bolger after finishing a close third in a Punchestown cross-county last month.

Tip: Tiger Roll to Win (40/1 price boost)

Boodles Juvenile Handicap Hurdle Tip – 4.50pm

This two-miles hurdle event includes juveniles not quite up to the standard for featuring in the JCB Triumph Hurdle. Among the contestants is likely to be Palladium from the Nicky Henderson yard with the horse winning by more than ten lengths in both of his last two hurdle races. He was previously a flat campaigner. There will be opposition from Irish raider Aramax who was a good winner on his latest appearance at Naas, whereas a Grade 2 win at Cheltenham over this distance back in January suggests Galahad Quest could come into the reckoning

Tip: Palladium to win (12/1)

Each-way: Galahad Quest (22/1)

Weatherby Champion Bumper Tip – 5.30pm

Irish trainer Willie Mullins has won this race on nine previous occasions and will be represented by expected favourite Appreciate It. After finishing third in his first bumper, he has impressively won his latest two starts and is described as one of the better chances at the meeting for the stable.

Opposition will include stable companion Ferny Hollow was a very easy winner last month at Fairyhouse and fellow Irish raider Queens Brook who won by more than twenty lengths on his previous outing. There is also Panic Attack from the David Pipe yard who scored by ten lengths in his only racecourse appearance back in January.

Tip: Appreciate It to win (2/1).
