The Epsom Derby and Oaks meeting may be over for another year, but the horse racing fixture list continues with Newmarket and Haydock providing the main action on this particular Saturday afternoon.
All races featured below are expected to be screened on ITV racing and are discussed with a view to selecting a four-time horse racing accumulator tip this weekend.
Our four selections for this weekend’s Saturday races come from Newmarket and Haydock and we’d advise either an accumulator, lucky 15 or yankee bet with these four selections from our tipster.
Staged over one mile four furlongs for fillies and mares, this Group 3 contest features the William Haggas trained Klassique who has finished outside the first two placings just once in seven previous races. Although she will have benefitted from her seasonal reappearance behind Enbihaar at Goodwood last month, Klassique has yet to win a race at Listed level or above.
Meanwhile Highgarden from the John Gosden stable has not raced since winning at this level back at Newmarket during September last year but will benefit from Frankie Dettori riding.
Of the other contenders, in-form Roger Varian is expected to saddle Pilaster who is a Group 2 winner but was well beaten by Dramatic Queen last time while Irish trained True Self has won her last three races in Listed company and is expected to be a threat. It is not often that Willie Mullins sends flat horses over to England
Selection: Highgarden to Win (6/1 with 888Sport).
For this Listed race over 5f, Stake Acclaim will be attempting to win a second successive race this term after missing the entire 2018 campaign. The Dean Ivory trained gelding won a handicap at Newbury during April but this race represents a tougher assignment.
Among the other contenders, Danzeno is another experienced handicapper who won at Group 3 level during his younger days while Intense Romance won her last three races last term and will have benefited from a close sixth last time when racing in Ireland.
Selection: Intense Romance to win (4/1 with 888Sport).
Safe Voyage will attempt to win a third successive race this term when competing in this Group 3 7f event and he is also unbeaten in three contests at Haydock Park, including a Listed race last time.
Sir Dancealot could be a real threat having raced in decent company over the past twelve months, and he was a winner at lower Group level three times last Summer. The 5-year-old gelding also beat Mankib under similar conditions last term while Shepherd Market should not be ignored after a decent effort in a Lingfield Group 3 event last month. She also receives 3lb in weight allowance. He is our horse racing NAP of the day and will be live on ITV racing.
Selection: Safe Voyage to Win (11/4 with 888Sport).
The Newmarket July course is opened for this open-looking 1m6f handicap with Jim Goldie sending down Theglasgowwarrior from Scotland. Improving for each of his three races this term culminating in a narrow victory at Hamilton, the 5-year-old gelding should again be prominent at the finish.
Lissitzky from Andrew Balding’s stable will provide tough opposition to the Goldie horse after winning well at Newmarket last time at 16/1. He has won two of his six races while it would be unwise to ignore the claims of consistent What A Welcome or Spirit Ridge who will improve for a decent seasonal reappearance at Newmarket last time. The latter may also appreciate this extra distance.
Selection: Spirit Ridge to Win (6/1 with 888Sport).
