Today’s Racing Tips – Back these Tips from Haydock and Salisbury on Thursday

Haydock betting tips

There is no less than seven meetings in the UK and Ireland today but Henry has focused his attention on the card at Haydock, picking four of today’s racing tips from there, plus the one selection from a decent card at Salisbury.

2:50 Haydock

The 2:50 contest is a trappy 5 runner contest over 7f in which none of the five runners can be ruled out. Al Rufaa heads the market looking to complete a four-timer since being fitted with a hood.

I like OSTILIO (3/1) here though for the team of Simon and Ed Crisford. This horse ran a cracking race over course and distance when second behind D’Bai beaten half a length. That was on ground that was a touch on the slow side so I’m hopeful today’s conditions will cause no issues. I’m happy to ignore the run last time over 1m as I think 7f is the horse’s trip and with the team flying over the last two weeks I make him my selection here.

3:20 Haydock

The 3:20 at Haydock is a 1m2f handicap race for the fillies and the unexposed Sun Bear heads the market for John Gosden at around 2/1.

The horse I like is POLYPHONY (3/1) who won last time out at Doncaster when stepped up to 1m2f for the first time over at Doncaster. I think there is scope for improvement off this current mark for her and if she was trained by a more established trainer she would be considerably shorter here. John Mackie is her trainer and his horses haven’t been running too bad with a few placed efforts over the last week at decent prices. Atzeni takes the ride here and I can see her going well.

3:50 Haydock

The 3:50 race is a class 2 handicap contest over just shy of 1m4f. The front two in the market are unexposed 3-year-olds and I think they’ll fight out the finish here.

The one I like is WITHOUT A FIGHT NAP (4/6). Without A Fight came third on his debut before winning well on his next two runs, firstly at Redcar on fast ground before winning at Newbury on soft ground which is what we are likely to have here at Haydock. I think he can will continue his progression now stepping into handicap company.

The other 3-year-old Coconut is another who has looked good in his short career but Ed Walker is 0-17 in the last 14 days and that’s enough to make me favour Without A Fight today.

4:20 Haydock

The finale at Haydock is a race for the men’s amateur riders to strut their stuff and it’s a handicap over just shy of 1m4f. It appears wide open with Das Kapital heading the market looking to follow up after winning last time out.

I like LADY SCATTERLEY NB (9/4) here from the duo of Tim and William Easterby. I thought she was unlucky not to win last time out up at Carlisle when finishing second on heavy ground. The fact we know she goes on the ground and stays further than 1m4f is a huge positive here for me here and William Easterby is one of the more established amateur jockeys which is key in a race like this one.

2:10 Salisbury

The 2:10 at Salisbury is a Novice Stakes over the 1m distance. Longlai and Golden Flame bring seem useful form to the table and they set a fair standard here.

However, I am happy to chance the newcomer MAHOMES (15/8) here for powerful connections. Qatar Racing owned, John Gosden trains and Champion jockey Oisin Murphy takes the ride. He is a Dubawi Colt out of The Fugue which is an extremely sighting pedigree and it suggests the ground will be no issue for him. Mahomes appears to be a really exciting horse and if the market speaks in his favour than I think he has al almighty chance of winning first time out.
