Horse Racing Best Bets for Today – Tuesday’s Tips from Doncaster & Mussleburgh
Today’s horse racing tips come from the afternoon racing at Doncaster and Musselburgh and things get underway at 12.30pm in Yorkshire.
The five races would make a great lucky 31 bet and for that kind of bet we’d always recommend the Betfred one winner bonus for lucky 15/31 and 63 bets because if you just have one winner on your bet, you would get paid at 4x the odds.
The opener at Doncaster is a Class 5 race over 5f.
The favourite is Digital for the Kevin Ryan team who ran a fine race first time out finishing second to Victory Heights who ran well at the Royal meeting.
The one I like though is BRIGHT ARMOR 11/4 for the Clive Cox team. Clive had a slow start to the campaign but his horses are starting to run like we expect them too. This horse shown signs of promise in his only career start running very green and showing up well for the majority of the race before weakening in the last furlong. That was a hot race with the queen runner Tactical finishing third there before going on to win at the Royal meeting. Cox’s horses normally improve from their first run to the second and I think he will be the one to beat here with this experience under his belt. Kirkby takes over in the saddle.
My first selection comes in the Class 5 handicap over the 6f distance and it appears to be one of the better betting markets on the card.
The horse I like is MR WAGYU 11/4 for the John Quinn team. The Quinn team always seems to get the best out of their sprinters and the same can be said for this one who shown significant improvement to win last time out at Ayr over this distance. The ground will be similar to the ground Mr Wagyu won on there and he must have a big chance here under a penalty in what doesn’t look the strongest of races.
The 2.00 Doncaster is again over the 6f distance but it is a Class 3 race.
Wentworth Falls heads the market at 9/2 and he ran well last time out finishing second and this step back up in trip will be a positive. He struggles to get his head in front so I’m happy to look elsewhere.
The horse I like is ICE LORD 4/1. Ice Lord ran well on his comeback run finishing third at Newmarket. Ice Lord is entitled to come on for that run and he returns to Doncaster where he has won before and the booking of James Doyle has certainly caught the eye. A bold bid is expected.
The 2.45 race is a Class 5 handicap over the 5f distance for the sprinters.
Desert Ace heads the market at 3/1 for the duo Paul Midgley and Kevin Stott who have both been banging in the winners recently but he hasn’t shown much of late although he’s off an attractive mark here.
I prefer GLENIFFER 9/1 here for the Jim Goldie team. Glennifer has yet to get his head in front but ran several good races last year. He is one of the least exposed in this field being a 4 year old and I feel he may have more to offer this season. In my opinion there is no reason why he can’t defy this current mark first time out.
The 3.15 here is a Class 5 handicap over the 1m4f distance.
The horse I like here is FIREWATER 7/2 NB. Firewater ran well last time out finishing second behind Colonel Queen who has since won again. Firewater is down in class here and as long as he settles early on this trip should be fine for him. Fahey’s horses have been running better as of late and hopefully, he can get one on the board for us here.
