12:50 Sedgefield

My first selection of the day comes in the 12:50 race from Sedgefield which is a 2m4f novice hurdle.

I like MARINE ONE here for the Dr Richard Newland team. He won well last time out stepping up on his previous efforts to win well over at Market Rasen. That race was over 2m but it was a strongly run race and he stayed on strongly to win by 3l. That to me suggests this step up in trip won’t be an issue. I fancy him to follow him that win here with Brian Hughes taken the ride.

Ask Henry will run his race and obviously has a shout but I feel the main danger may be the less unexposed Fortunate Fred.

13:20 Sedgefield

The next race is another novice hurdle over the same course and distance. Timoshenko won well on his first career start before disappointing next time out. He steps up in trio here which may well bring out more improvement but he is carrying a penalty.

I prefer the chances of GALILEO SILVER who has good form in the book. He ran his best race in three career starts last time out finishing a good 2nd. The 3rd has since won twice and I think this is a good opportunity for him to get off the mark himself in what doesn’t look the strongest of races. Sam Thomas who trains the horse continues to improve in what’s still early days in his training career and I think he will bring this horse along nicely.

13:50 Sedgefield

Next up is the 13:50 race and this is a handicap chase over 2m5f.

A favourite of mine who’s won for us at 14/1 two starts back before following up that win last time out runs here and that is of course CHELTENHAM DE VAIGE (NB). I fancy him to complete the hat trick here as he is continuing to progress through the ranks well. He won very well last time out despite showing signs of greenness and taken a few of the fences with him. He still near enough won on the bridle and he’s only going to get better with more experience under his belt. I expect him to defy the penalty here and complete the hat-trick.

The obvious danger is Brotherly Command who won well last time out and bids to follow up here.

14:20 Sedgefield

The next race is a handicap hurdle over 2m4f and it appears a wide open betting heat for punters.

I really like PRUSSIA WITH LOVE (NAP) here. I was very impressed with how she quickened clear last time out at Uttoxeter and I think she’ll prove to be a lot better than this current handicap mark. A lot of her rivals haven’t got much scope off their current marks and I expect her to improve past the lost of them.

Lastofthecosmics won well last time out and is a solid e/w alternative.

15:25 Sedgefield

My final selection comes in the 15:25 race which is another handicap hurdle, this time over 2m.

The horse I like is RIGHT DESTINATION who was second on his seasonal debut last time out and that race is working out well as the winner has since gone in again. Right Destination arrives here on the same mark and I believe it’s a mark he’ll defy. A repeat of his last run will see him go very close here and I would even expect him to come on for the season debut so improvement is likely. The Fergal O’Brien team continue to bang in the winners and hopefully they can have another good day here today too.

Two Blondes is likely to run a good race and the unexposed Now Children is worth noting, especially if the market speaks in his favour.
