ITV Horse Racing Betting Tips for Warwick and Kempton Saturday 11th January
Horse racing tips for the ITV racing this weekend including selections to make up a big odds accumulator at over 1250/1. These four picks in a £1 lucky 15 bet would return £2507.
A competitive card at Warwick has attracted some useful horses particularly among the novice events and three of the races from that meeting are included in this preview. Meanwhile at Kempton, the Silviniaco Conti chase is the main event but just five runners have been declared, and so the later Lanzarote Hurdle is cover below. All four races are set to be televised on ITV.
McCoy Contractors Hampton Novices’ Chase – 1.50 Warwick
For this 3m Grade 2 chase, trainer Kim Bailey will be hoping that Two For Gold can complete a three-timer for this season. Unbeaten in his two races to date over fences, the 7-year-old gelding is a front-runner who seems to just do enough to win and this race will be his most difficult task to date after winning previously at Carlisle and Kelso.
Ardlethen from the Dan Skelton stable will be among his opponents and he has raced in decent company this season. A winner on his seasonal debut when narrowly beating Lisnagar Oscar, he has since finished third behind Sam Spinner and Danny Whizzbang but may just lack that vital turn of foot in this company.
Highest Sun is another horse worth considering although his only victory in three chases to date arrived in a two-runner event at Plumpton.[inline_advert ad=”1″]
Ballymore Leamington Novices’ Hurdle – 2.25 Warwick
Staged over 2m5f, this Grade 2 hurdle has attracted Shan Blue from the Dan Skelton yard and who was travelling well when falling three hurdles from home in a decent Newbury event back in November. He has since regained confidence by winning a low-key race at Southwell by twenty lengths and should be capable of further improvement.
Among the other likely competitors in this race is Mossy Fen who won twice earlier this season but was beaten into fourth place behind Redford Road at Cheltenham last month over three miles. A return to this trip may be more suitable.
Decor Irlandais should also be worth watching after his easy success at Catterick last time but the Irish raider faces a step upwards in class, whereas Harry Senior has improved with all four races this term but has claimed just one victory when scoring at Chepstow last month. However, that was a comfortable success over a trip much closer to this distance.
Of the remainder, the Nicky Henderson trained Keen On is unbeaten in two races over hurdles and should not be ignored as he is proven at this distance, while there was much to like about Whatsupwithyou’s win at Ascot over 2m5f in his only race to date over hurdles.[inline_advert ad=”2″]
Unibet Lanzarote Handicap Hurdle – 2.40 Kempton
This Listed hurdle race staged over 2m5f will be a competitive affair but Notre Pari should feature prominently. Trained by Olly Murphy, he was a fairly comfortable winner of an Aintree handicap last month when beating One Night In Milan and seemed suited by racing over further than two miles.
The consistent Northofthewall may be another contender after winning for the first time in nine attempts over hurdles when scoring at Hereford last time. That distance was two miles and his running seemed to suggest that he could be equally effective over further, although he has raced unsuccessfully in the past over 2m3f.
One horse assured of coping with this trip is Larkbarrow Lad who raced best at the end of a 2m4f victory at Worcester last time. He had never previously finished outside of the first two placings in five previous outings over similar distances, although this race is an upgrade in class.
Burrows Park will also be a contender especially if conditions are testing having won at Hereford last month in soft ground, while Burrows Edge may have needed the outing when falling last time but was a competent handicap hurdler twice on this course earlier this year.[inline_advert ad=”3″]
McCoy Contractors Classic Handicap Chase – 3.00 Warwick
Although he was also entered in the earlier novices’ chase at this meeting, The Conditional is set to contest this longer 3m5f Grade 3 event. The 8-year-old gelding last appeared on a racecourse when finishing a creditable second in Newbury’s Ladbrokes Trophy after previously beating West Approach at Cheltenham.
Opposition is likely to include Kimberlite Candy who has yet to win beyond three miles in his three latest attempts but his second place behind Walk In The Mill in the Becher Chase last month was encouraging.
A decent test of stamina is also likely to benefit Petite Power who won twice earlier this season over 3m+ distances before just failing to beat Belle Empress at Exeter more recently over 3m6f. He finished strongly that day and well ahead of the remainder.
Meanwhile, Cheltenham National Hunt Challenge Cup winner Le Breuil will need to improve upon his two efforts this season and he was well-beaten behind Kimberlite Candy last time.[inline_advert ad=”4″]
