ITV Racing Tips for Cheltenham and Lingfield on Saturday 14th November
Saturday’s ITV Racing returns to Cheltenham this weekend and once again Henry has picked out his best bets from the live races.
There are also two races live from Lingfield which are also previewed.

The opener from Cheltenham is a Grade 2 Novice Chase over 2m and it is a race 2020 Arkle winner Put The Kettle on was successful in so hopefully there’s a few Arkle contenders lining up here. Fusil Raffles heads the market and he won well in a 4 runner affair here last time out.
I like one at a bigger price here though and it is ZARKAREVA 9/1. This horse represents last year’s winning trainer/jockey combination of Henry De Bromhead and Aiden Coleman. Henry is very good with his 2m chases as we all know and he can certainly bring out significant improvement from his horses when they do go chasing. This has been the case with Zarkareva who has won his last 2 starts very well. He will stay further than this so hopefully, they go a good gallop and ZARKAREVA gets plenty of weight of the market principles.
The big race of the weekend comes up at 2:15 and it is the Paddy Power Gold Cup Handicap Chase over 2m4f. Simply the Betts and Mister Fisher are bound to be popular and connections will be hoping the pair prove to be better than handicap class.
However, I like SAINT SONNET 5/1 NB here. This horse has been a significant market mover in the last few months for this race and I’m sure connections are expecting a big run. The horse had plenty of experience in France before joining Paul Nicholls at the start of 2020. It went on to win an average race at Catterick easy by 4l on his first start for Nicholls before being pitched into the Grade 1 JLT Novices Chase at Cheltenham next time. He could only manage 7th there but with another summer on his back this 5-year-old can come on again. I think he’s thrown in.
The 2:50 race is a tricky handicap hurdle over 3m where Tea Clipper heads the market at 11/4 for the Tom Lacey team.
The one I like is GOLAN FORTUNE 10/1. I thought it ran a very pleasing comeback run at Aintree last week and I think this race has always been the plan. He won the race last year off only a 2lb higher mark and I think he in entitled to be bang there at the finish. Any rain that arrives will aid his chances.
The 3:05 race is over at Lingfield on the AW and it is the listed contest known as the Churchill Stakes.
I think DUBAI WARRIOR 8/13 will take a lot of beating here and his level of form is comfortably higher than the rest of the field. If he runs to form like he normally does on the AW he’ll win.
The 3:25 race from Cheltenham is another competitive handicap hurdle, this time over 2m5f. Captain Tom Cat heads the market after winning here at Cheltenham in October and he is currently on flying form and is respected.
The one I like however is WHATSUPWITHYOU 14/1 . This horse finished 7th behind the favourite on his seasonal debut but I think he will come on a lot for that effort. Ben Pauling’s horses are beginning to run into form and like many of his horses, I expect him to come on from the seasonal debut. He was highly thought of after winning a decent maiden hurdle at Ascot but things haven’t got to plan since. He has a lovely racing weight and he’s a good value play here.
The 3:40 race from Lingfield is a 6f contest known as the Golden Rose Stakes.
The one for me here is JUDICIAL 9/2. The reasons are fairly simple to be honest. The horse is in the form of his life, running better than ever of late and he won this contest last year. If he replicates his recent form he’ll take a lot of beating and could add to the 2019 victory in this race.
The final race from Cheltenham is the mares bumper and we don’t know a lot about the runners. It’s certainly a race to keep an eye on because there could be plenty of future winners in here.
I like UCANEVER 7/2 NAP here. She was so impressive when winning on debut by 20l and trainer Anthony Honeyball is a trainer I always like when it comes to bumper races. He is flying at the moment and although this horse is stepping up in grade, I think she can improve from her debut and go very close here.
