ITV Racing Tips for Saturday 1st August: Glorious Goodwood Day 5 & Newmarket
The final day of Glorious Goodwood 2020 is here and Henry has picked out a betting tip from each ITV race including some of the card at Newmarket. See the selections below and the best free bet offers to use.

The opener on the final day of Goodwood is the Unibet Stewards Sprint handicap over 6f. Charlie Hills saddles the favourite Rewaayat who has climbed 12lb in the handicap since his last win. He is progressive and may well be capable of defying that hike.
However, I like CALL ME GINGER 9/1 EW here for the shrewd Jim Goldie team. He ran a fine race last time out finishing second at Hamilton. He is still unexposed and Kevin Stott is an eye-catching jockey booking here.
The next is a Class 2 handicap over 1m6f. It looks an average race on paper and I think the favourite LAAFY 5/2 will prove the best of this lot. Gelded before his opening run of the season he has shown a significant upturn in form winning his first race of the season before finishing second in the Old Newton Cup. This trip will be fine for him and it’s not the strongest of races.
The Group 2 Lillie Langtry Stakes is next up for the fillies and it’s just the 4 runners for this year’s renewal.
I really can’t see pat ENBIHAAR 10/11 NAP here for the Gosden team. Enbihaar was very impressive when winning this race last year and she should be spot on for a repeat bid after finishing fourth on her return to action. She’ll come on for that run and I think she is the banker of the week.
The Stewards Cup is next up and 28 go to post. There is bound to be a few hard luck stories here.
I am happy to chance SWINDLER 14/1 EW who was impressive last season. He returned to action with a 5th place but he looked as though he was ridden with a future race in mind. This strong pace will suit as he has won big handicap races previously at Ascot and I think he will run a big race if the splits come in time for him.
Another handicap for us to get stuck into here and this time it’s a Class 2 contest over the 7f distance.
The one for me here is SOCIETY LION 9/4. Brought along in typical Sir Michael Stoute fashion she won at Yarmouth last year before returning with two great runs in handicaps this year. He shaped very well last time out when just being touched off and compensation awaits here.
The first race from Newmarket on ITV comes at 2:05 and it’s a Class 2 contest for the 2-year-olds over 6f.
I like FAMILLE ROSE 11/4 here for the Roger Varian stable. She has made a promising start to her career finishing second in both of her career starts to date. She was clear of the rest with the winner last time out and clearly open to significant improvement as she steps into a nursery for the first time.
The next at Newmarket is a Class 3 handicap contest over 7f.
I like BAASHIR 9/4 here for the Charlie Hills team. He made a promising debut before winning impressively at Salisbury next time. He steps into handicap company for the first time and I think he’ll prove better than his current mark.
The next is a 1m4f Listed contest and it is an intriguing race with plenty of unexposed types.
I really like the Sir Michael Stoute trained KATARA 2/1 here who has improved with every run to date. He was a great winner last time out powering clear at Kempton and I think he’ll certainly be capable at this level. Oisin takes the ride.
The final race from Newmarket on ITV is a 4-runner race over 1m6f. All 4 runners look capable of playing a leading role.
The one I like most is WITHOLD 2/1 NB who certainly is the most talented of this lot on a going day. I think he’ll get a soft lead in front and it’s a drop-in class from his previous runs. Hopefully another winner for champion jockey Oisin Murphy.
